Alright so here's the thing, all I have is a NTFS-formatted external HDD that contains my music and videos, and obviously I can't write to it using my MacBook. I downloaded CCC as I plan on getting another hard drive anyway to use as a backup and I heard this is the best program for the job, but it told me it only supports HFS+ file systems, and ideally I want to use FAT32 just in case I ever need to connect to a Windows PC. So... what's the deal? Is there another popular application that supports FAT32? All I could find through Google were Windows apps and CCC. I'm not after backing up my Mac hard drive, just having two identical external HDDs.
no no no you're going about this all wrong you have to use HTC56 software if you want the copy to be vertical playable otherwise i would recommend the FAT 2.0 backup package
There is the software called Paragon which make NTFS disk read/write enabled for OS X. http://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/ I would stay away from FAT32 as much as I can! But if you want a bootable back you need and HFS+ formated drive anyway, ... obviously
