OLA GUYS If you missed the Car Jack Streets 2 podcast, you can watch it all again here: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/23634505 If you want to see video's of the teams games at the end of the 24 hour games jam, check out the following blog post! http://www.tag-games.com/2012/07/02/tag-jam-2012-blog/
No problem! It was a very interesting discussion as even I hadn't heard of some of the things the guys are planning. (I also don't like it when that happens because how am I to tease you guys with what is going to be in the game if I don't know lol!) The most important part of the podcast to note is that we are pretty much at the vertical slice, which means that players can move around the world, enter and exit vehicles, interact with the environment, etc. Essentially the concept video has been created. We just have to fill the game out now with all the social stuff, the stories, missions, the meat of the game essentially. We have the bones, now we need the meat . (Also, the game is being based on Texas, and yes, on our design board is a skyline of Huston )
Just wanted to say, keep up the good work Tag. Eventhough it's been 3 years and some have given up on the game, I think y'alls (you can tell I'm Texan) updates of the game is awesome. Also, WOOOOO FOR TEXAS. And any clue about the release date? Just a really bad (no offense) estimate will do. Thanks
Thanks! Heh, that actually means a lot, because since I joined Tag this time last year I have worked my butt off alongside all of my other job duties to make sure you guys absolutely know what is going on with CJS2 and can get involved in the design of the game . (You have no idea how exhausted I was during that interview...) I know if I was in your guy's shoes though that I would have been kinda disappointed by how things were handled with Car Jack Streets 2 before, but hopefully everything I have been doing since has somewhat made things up to those who have stuck around! Anyway, back to CJS2, yesterday I watched our lead coder drive a car off a jump in game and then exit the car and walk around. It was pretty coo'.
Yep, isometric. Although I saw our lead programmer switch between different levels of isometric yesterday, from close-ish to almost top-down. So I would think that functionality will be in the final game (no reason to develop it otherwise).
I think y'all have a bit of a problem...when I try to view the video podcast, the video itself freezes at around 0:02. The audio continues but the video stops. Again, this is on mobile, but I'm unsure about the computer.
Anyway, sorry for multiple posts like this. But in the podcast you talked about the world being modular (probably not the right word). Could players be able to make their own mods and such somehow?
I haven't had a chance to read this thread, but I remember playing Car Jack Streets on my ipod2. Did it come out before Gangstar? Either way, it was on a different account...would love to boot it up and give it a whirl. Can't wait for the sequel.
