Yeah, I guess it is just broken for me. I just beat 8 different randomly matched players without playing any friends and no achievements. Plus, I got the 4 in a row right after a victory with my friend (for the 7th time in a row) so not sure how that works (all the other achievements seem to work). Not a big deal, game is still great!
I'm really enjoying this game, but kind of annoyed by the cheaters using anagram finders. Maybe an alternate mode with a 30-second timer would help with this? Sorry if this has already been discussed in this big thread.
Suggestion: After a certain time (3-5 days) of your opponent not making a move, you should automatically be declared the victor. The only way to get rid of the game is to forfeit, which counts as a loss. And losses are bad
Would it be possible to add something in stats to show how many games you've gone without losing? Also, this is probably far-fetched but maybe a mini-profile for your opponent which encases some of their stats like longest word and their current win streak (putting w/l ratio might not be a good idea here) and jwahoske the cheaters will get bored sooner otherwise a suggestion to stop them could be when someone opens up a match to play their next word the game alerts the opponent if they get out of the app before playing the word..
Ok now we're using different iCloud and Game Center accounts but each game my wife and I play against each other is costing us both 2 lives? Anyone know why that would be happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Both of you are getting charged 2 lives each? It should cost both of you a single life to start a new game.
There is a 7-day timeout. It only seems to apply to random matches though, not friends, so it looks like the game I have with Pedroapan which has been top of my list for days may never finish!
That doesn't affect people who use their computer rather than their phone to use an online cheating program. Also, I would probably get flagged as a cheater frequently, because I'll often let a board sit for a while and come back to it a few times if I know there's something good there but I just can't find it. I also wouldn't want to play with the 30 second timer rule because of that.
As written earlier already, the only bulletproof solution against cheaters ATM is to build yourself a solid base of friends on GameCenter (or Facebook) and play with them instead of choosing random opponents. Also, if you don't have enough friends to play with, picking up a few names from this thread might be a good start. If someone's willing to make a list of active users from this thread and put it in the very first post (or next to game's description), I believe it'd be highly appreciated. Just a thought.
I thought that one would disappear in seven days myself. Frankly, I've decided just to play against other non-native-english-speakers, that's why I haven't accepted the invitation. You played words I never heard of, which left me with little chance to win. I'll see if there is a way to make the game go away. Cheers! Pedroapan
You say that, but I have a win record of 101 wins from 107 games, but only 1 win from 2 games against you. You're not doing too badly! No worries though. I suspect I'm one of the players who would be decried as a cheater even though I don't cheat. I tend to play some pretty obscure words! I think you can swipe right on the game to remove it from your list.
Games should disappear after 7 days no matter if they are with your friends or not. We are going to make it so that any games abandoned that has more than 3 rounds will count as a loss for the person who left (or didn't play for 7 days) and a win for the other player.
