Capitals is a social word game, I like to describe it as Words with Friends meets Risk. If you have an iOS device running iOS 8, you can play using Test Flight. Just go fill out this form: http://goo.gl/forms/T9RBvQon5M The game supports Facebook and Game Center, though to use Game Center you need to go into device settings, Game Center and enable "Sandbox" after installing. If you have created a sandbox Game Center account, post it here so we can play each other.
New build available via Test Flight! Build 14: + Added in game banner for status updates while in-app + Made life timer not reset if already counting down + Fixed list not refreshing after 1st turn on new game + Player stats now pulled from server for more accuracy + Tweaked achievements + Crash reporting!
I got the invite and downloaded Capitals. Based on the tutorial, it looks like a very simple and interesting word game. Unfortunately, it is not connecting to Game Center, so I can't try a real game. Edit: Nimblebit informed me that "You have to go into your device settings and switch on "Sandbox" in the Game Center menu.". Dohh!
Got my invite! Unfortunately I can't install it - "test flight is currently unavailable. Try again later." Shucks!
Just sent my application off - hope to receive an invite soon as this looks really interesting and fun! If y'all want to add me on Game Centre before I get it, my name is ReverseDAJ. Really looking forward to playing some Capitals with you guys
I'm in the game. Game Center account is BaddApple. I'm a great person to play because I can't spell. This is a fun way to get better. What would be nice if there was a simple chat like Hearthstone. I played a person last night would got my capital with the word. "Boned" It was such a good word I wanted to say great job, or LOL.
I really like it. I need to add you all to my GC Sandbox so I can play you. If I had one wish, it would be add AI so I don't have to depend on another player. But otherwise the game is easy to learn, clever, and fun.
I agree the waiting really slows everything down. I have about 10 games going, but still it's really really slow. You start a game, the other player doesn't go, and then what? I like the gameplay though.
I have 4 games going right now and it does take a little bit to understand the strategy involved ... I did play a game that was very similar a while back, but it used square tiles and had you attempting to move from either top of the screen to the bottom or vice versa. My only knock - if I can offer one - is the pricing scheme. I think NimbleBit are experimenting with the "best" pay-to-play model they can find. For these kind of games where it's typically been a pay once, play forever game (ala LetterPress), there is a challenge that once you get money from me, that's all you will see. With this kind of setup, you can pay to add more lives, or get more "hearts", or unlock everything. It's an interesting world out there for monetizing these games ... just hope that the freemium doesn't scare people off. GC - look me up "glecko" FB - not sure how to request a game with someone - but my name is "Greg Ory"
