Says you. That pretty much sums it all up. In fact that's the perfect response to everything you've written. Says you
The art in the background -- the big giant robots back there, the birds taking off, the silhouette of the city skyline and smoking ruins -- are really awesome.
Wow, way to ignore everything in the post. So what you're telling us is, you have zero actual evidence for all your rather rude assertions that everyone else is lying about their reasons for disliking the price? Glad we cleared that one up.
Then I wonder why Wurdle, which came out over a year ago (8/08), was priced at 1.99 back then, and Canabalt is priced 2.99 now. I'm not knocking it, just honestly curious on the thought process involved, especially when considering the market then & now.
Can we please stop this senseless bickering over other people's posts and opinions? It's really quite juvenile, no matter how 'civilised' you try to make it sound, and it accomplishes nothing.
eeenmachine: I think you are completely wrong. Whenever a price turns to be the main reason for people buy or not buy an app, you have a problem. The game is ok, but not worth the money. Once again you are wrong about the AppStore experience. It is also about the shopping feeling, not only gameplay. I just writing because you showed some indignity with my comments, saying that we should let the market decide if the price is right or not. Well, again, we are the marketing, we are sharing our opinion, we are early adopters that can provide valuable feedback for those who did not buy the game yet. Easily a game could fail tremendously because of a bad comment. But you can do whatever you want and think whatever you want. THAT IS JUST MY &$&)&&$@@)#%% OPINION
For this game I would have paid $4.99 - it's SO stylish in every respect. Absolutely love this. For a version with a Pause button I would pay $5.99 btw ;-) Jamie.
i really don't mind supporting developers, i've spent alot of money on games, but i don't see myself playing this so much that it's worth 3 dollars to me. i'll play it in line or something once in a while, but that's really orbital's job for me. i see this game going down to .99, and when it does i'll buy it just to have another quick play style game. don't get me wrong, it is pretty. i love the birds and other animations. looks great playing the hd version on my 40"lcd, don't know if i can shrink down to play it on the phone...
I've been tweeting my high scores to my Twitter account, but it's been annoying people, so I set up a new Twitter account for my tweets from iPhone games. So I changed my account details in Canabalt, but it still published to my old account. I even deleted the app, then reinstalled it and only put in the details of the new account, but it still published to my old account. How is that happening?
This statement should be a front page article and should be grounds for a week ban from the forums. I am so tired of all the complaints from people about money or the game is not "worth" it.
yeah, how dare those people voice how they feel about something on a message board. weekly bans on any posts related to whether a game is worth the purchase or not!
Ok, I love pick up and play games ............the price is not an issue for me, more of an issue is if the game is fun and retains my interest. In fact, having games at .99 has probably made me buy too many games which can reduce the overall enjoyment just by being overloaded and buying all kinds because it's only .99. Anyway for those who have played and enjoy the game, it seems without global high scores, the game might get old fast. Can anyone comment ?
the developer previously stated that they will be integrating online boards running on the same system in their other app, wurdle. it's definitely a good start.
