Why when it is far better than any game I have played bar one? More addictive than Doodle Jump, more fun that NOVA, nearly as good as Spider. Although you'll only play it for a few minutes each time you pick up your device you'll carry on playing it for months.
The iPhone isn't made for epics that last hours. It's not even meant to be a gaming platform, as if you're REALLY into gaming a PSP is a better way to go. So when you have a spare few minutes to blow and an iPhone in your pocket, why start trying to play through a massive game when you can have a few blasts at a very addictive, thrilling game. Unless you're one of those sad people who play NOVA or something like that at home in their spare time when they could play a game on a console or, better yet, have a social life.
Na i play nova in my officeAnyway would have bought a psp if the controls for FPS and racing games didn't suck that bad !
tried Gt a few weeks ago. While the gfx were awesome(the best for any mobile platform) , didn't like the controls much....Actually i like tilt to steer better than any other control.besides AI was as smart or aggressive as RR.But boy was that game visually stunning!! the only reason i will ever get psp is for soul caliber...such games absolutely suck on iphone.
let's br positive! maybe dev is feeling nice, make is 1-2 days NYE and New years, great idea to kick off 2010!!
Get out of this thread if you complain about Canabalt's price. It is far worth it. It is an incredibly addicting game. I hope a raise in price.
You know, your wish is most easily granted. Just send the developers more money. In fact, send as much as you like. I'm sure if you PM them they'll be happy to provide you with their details... Or wait, did you mean you were hoping for a raise in price for other people?
My Christmas wish I made to Santa was to make sure that a Canabalt thread was consistently bumped throughout 2010 with a constant stream of non-stop pricing debates. Thanks for making my dream come true guys, I knew Santa was real.
I think that Canabalt is pretty cool but it's so hard for me to pull the $3 trigger when this game is still free on my pc. The dev should really come back and justify the price more. I know of a couple (rRootage and Cave Story) free PC games that ended up being ported to other places and either they stayed free or were upgraded to justify a price. Perhaps a change of scenery or color palette switches for your character. Have a level progression where after a certain distance you move to the next scene (from the roof tops to the high way to the woods to a cave). I'm not saying the game needs a story but it would be cool to see the little guy get one step closer to freedom. Now I bet you guys are thinking "Waa waa waaa. But I like it the way it is now!" which is fine. Keep a straight up 'survival mode' style game in there where you go as far as you can go and get your score posted online. I'm not proposing to change the way the original game is played but just to supplant it with another mode.
I was going to reply with something even MORE sarcastic but I think we'd lose the crowd. Everyone complaining about the price should stfu and just buy it. If you're in this thread then you're interested in the app. I do not see them discounting the app EVER. Even if they do... even if it's the day after you buy it... GET OVER IT. It's only $3. Remember when comparitively crappier games (like for the Atari) cost 10-20 times more than what you're complaining about? The price is $3. Ask for a bigger allowance if you cant afford it.
There is a wonderful blog post from one of the devs where he is stating, why he is never gonna follow this 99 Cent way. And this blog post is VERY WELL written. But I'm not interested in linking it, because this is a never ending story in here. I hope, your anger eats you up
Well, I wish the price would drop too but I'm not gonna get into the discussion of being worth it or not. People that find it worth it for a price will buy it for the price asked, or won't, simple as that. I just think that at this time of the year, not having a sale (even if it is 1 buck less, not saying ti should be .99) does hurt the sales, because, simply put, most other apps are going on sales, and that makes potential buyers go to that other app that IS on sale over one that will be the same price forever and ever. The big 'SALE' sign attracts a lot of ppl, because... that's how people work... Just my 2 cents... I haven't bought this game, but I am thinking of doing it, just kinda on the careful side lately as the appstore has become a big in app dlc store. About the game itself, while simple, it looks simply great. @your personal robot: post the link I'm curious
