My highest so far is 7733 which I'm pretty happy with. However, I've seen people post scores on Twitter that are over 10K.
Hope Adam doesn't mind, but I tweaked the tweet boards from our other games to make a Canabalt board showing the last 100 scores tweeted from the game, check it out: http://m.nimblebit.com/canabaltTweets.php
Just had my best run yet: I ran 7804m before hitting a wall and tumbling to my death on my iPhone. Scratch that its now 8102m.
The image in my other post showed up at first, but for some reason it's not showing now. Anyway, here it is
I am really close to buying this. Initially I held off because I have so many other games to play but I have read nothing but good things about this game. I have never played the flash version, so I have a question. How long does an average game last? I looks like most people get to 5000-10000, so about how long does that take? I like really short games, especially if I am going to try to beat a high score. Lastly, I missed the original quote listed for this game but have enjoyed reading the complaints about it
in such a situation, one would highly recommend that you try the flash version since you are aware of it. see for yourself.
I played about the 50th game (flash version) since discovering Canabalt this weekend and reached around 4260m. That game took less than 45 seconds (maybe 30), but every second was entertaining. No boring seconds at all.
I need to play a little more so I can get 10,000+ You guys are good. Even though this game a fast paced, it would be cool if there's a slow-mo button. I would love to see that and for sure if there are some slow-mo grunts and breathing that would be awesome! Another idea is something like if you pass 5,000 (a marker set at the 5,000 mark) it changes to a a new stage, with different obstacles, then to 10,000 another stage/obstacle. Ideas probably won't happen but I can dream, right?
I find it funny that because of everyone complaining about the price, this topic stayed at the top of TA and I kept seeing it. Last night I just bought it cause I've seen it in front of me so much. I'm glad I did. It's a fun game. We'll see how much I play before getting bored of it though. But so far I'm loving it!
maybe that's a valid new strategy. Release a game at a controversial price point so the debate keeps it riding to the top of TA. arn
Slow mo You know, I think that the option to have some slow-mo after breaking the glass jumping out of a building would be really cool. Of course, with moderate ease-in and ease-out. Of course, that may mess up the hold-to-jump function... But still. My high score is 10500 after 40 tries! Yay!
Well I just picked this up and it is well worth the 2.99. I have probably played twenty or so time but can only get to the 4000's so far. Very addicting game.
i'm surprised that one thing never got mentioned in this thread, and that was the developer's use, and surprisingly apple's allowing, of the word faggotry in the game's description. of course they got complaints about it and took it down...but replaced it with a paragraph describing how they used it because it gave the reviews a "human touch"(lol?) and that the complainers are humorless. semi secret software should probably work on getting an actual sensible PR rep. very bizarre. back to waiting for a sale that may never come.
Canabalt is about to break into the top 50 Games in the US, which must be close to the bottom of the top 100 Apps. Go Canabalt Go!
This game deserves to break into the top 10. I can't stop playing it. Canabalt is so simple, yet it has everything that makes a game good. It's pretty amazing it only took a few weeks to create.
