If the app can access the time on the device it could tie colours to the time of day. That would be neat.

Yea I like that idea, and no I wasn't meaning bright neon stuff, just very subtle pastel colour changes to keep with the mood it currently has but add a subtle variety to it.

Can we please stop arguing about the price of the game. If it's too expensive to you, don't buy it, if it isn't too expensive, then buy it. What's so hard to understand?! -.- And I saw some guy commenting about how there isn't even a lite version for it because he'd like to "see how well the controls transfer over to a touchscreen". ARE YOU KIDDING ME. It's ONE click which translates into ONE touch on the screen! How hard can that be to imagine??? Besides, the dev has already put the game online to play FOR FREE. It's up to you if you wanna buy it for your iPhone! Argh...

And if I'm not wrong the dev has already confirmed that online leaderboards will be coming in the next update.

It's insanely addictive trust me, especially when online leaderboards come. If you think it's too simple for you just don't get it. You're just missing out on a really great game :)

I'm doing alright with most jumps and obstacles <2000m, but usually end up getting turned into a fine mist - right after a brick wall drops down out of nowhere. That's one cheap shot that seems unnecessary to have so early on in a game like this. Otherwise, I don't mind tumbling to my death when it's clearly my fault. So far I've only played the flash-game. Are the idevice jumps more responsive?

I've never seen so many members and junior members(devs?) posting in a thread)

Oh gimme a break; you don't know they're devs.

You don't like the game for the price. We get it.

Could you possibly let this drop?

I'm not the one who brought it up. If some "new guy" (seems to be a lot of them in this thread)is gonna take the time to dig up a comment from 2 days ago and preach he should also be able to see the many posts which I clearly said I bought the game already. And no to me it's not worth $3 because of the lack of gameplay/control mechanics, just my opinion, he seems to have more of a problem with that and what I said than I have with the game.

Each time you play it's a randomly generated level, so sometimes you don't even see a brick wall until quite a bit later in the level. Other times you run into them very early like you mentioned. I agree that it definitely makes the game more difficult, and it can be really frustrating at times. Especially when you jump to clear one and it throws your timing off completely, which results in you jumping right off the edge of a building.

I'm finding more and more that there's an odd kind of strategy to this game. Sometimes it's best to slow yourself down by purposely hitting a box, and other times a small jump (light tap) is needed to jump down into a window. It's that combination of difficulty, strategy, and sometimes just plain luck that keeps me coming back to this game again and again.

As far as the responsiveness of the iDevice version, it's about the same as the flash version. If anything, it's a little more responsive.

I was just playing the flash version...really liked it!
One question...what do the various blocks and obstacles in between the game do...slow you down?
And does the game speed keep on increasing as you go ahead?

You will hear an audio cue before the wall hits, it sounds like a bomb being ejected from a plane, it usually happens on the building before the wall appears. What may help is playing the end of a playlist on your iPod so that you mute the game's music so you can hear just the sound effects.

But once you know what you're listening out for then it's all gravy. ;)

I think the game is amazing. Easily worth the $3. I love people complaining about the 'lack of gameplay'. I've already put more time into this game than Dungeon Hunter or something like that. When I'm out and about, games like Canabalt are what appeal to me. Great for quick bursts of gameplay.

The atmosphere is what makes the game, imo. I love the flocks of birds, the animated backgrounds, the bombs that sometimes drop in front of you - it's all so well done. I guess I can agree that I would like a little more variety in the visuals (I'm thinking Metal Slug-like total destruction), but I love what's here.

The gameplay is fast and simple. I like how the character accelerates a little bit every time you jump to a new building, and you have to run into the boxes to slow down. It's intense when you start going really fast.

I hope that the dev experiments with changes in the game and adding other modes but please leave the classic mode as is and always keep that as an option.

    and pleeeeeeeease.........high scores :)

Yeah, the bomb was an issue for me until I found out about the volume options in the iDevice's settings. With the music turned lower or off entirely, you can hear an audio cue one building before you run into the bomb. It's much easier to avoid once you get the hang of it.

    edit:
Sorry, just reread your post and saw you're playing the flash version. Not sure how to manipulate audio on that. Also, I've found the responsiveness on the phone to be really good.

I agree, a bit like Doodle Jump, it now has the "classic" option back to play it as it was before all the updates. Definitely keep this classic mode and have all the new stuff as a separate mode to play.
