I just bought the game "submarine" thinking I had bought it before. All I have in my iTunes account is .21 but my parents have their credit card on the account. Will my parents credit card get billed since I bought the game?

There is an actual issue here - Apple give you no way at all to find out which apps you have downloaded before unless you:

    1. keep a big list which you create after looking at each email
    or
    2. search your email
    or
    3. Keep everything

Given you can buy music / tv / films / apps with a single click this is a major failing. Could they let you know? Of course they could. Do they give a damn? No because it gives them money.

I bought an app wrongly and went for the refund. I got it and was told to use the 'shopping basket' for apps. You can't. An Apple employee who plainly had no clue telling me to use something which cannot be used.

So let's not nail the OP here - this is an Apple problem which they will not fix because it suits them to not fix it.

If you can't use your parents' card, why's it there to begin with?

You can look up every app you've downloaded on iTunes. It's a pain in the ass though.

I agree though - and who doesn't - that the appStore...um...sucks. Actually Apple as a company, from customer service to their business decisions throughout history, pretty much sucks.

Actually I have to disagree there, their customer service is pretty incredible. Have you been to an apple store lately?

In iTunes on the top right, it shows a box with your email.
Click it and then enter your password then press enter

Ah - I thought tou meant somewhere easier :) Tried that once I got so annoyed. I am building a list from emails but it'll take a while.

And it's not like Apple can't do a proper list, it's not like people don't want it - it is entirely because it suits Apple for you NOT to see how much you are spending.
