Welcome to how digital video cameras work. 720p is barely 1 megapixel.

I wonder what the resolution of a 720p video screencap would be. I doubt .7mp.

Or not, IDK, what is the resolution of screencaps right now on iOS?

What are some thoughts on the prices? I'm a little mad that the 32gb model is the same price as the 32gb 3G model, since I just upgraded to a 3G iPod touch in July.

The iPod touch hasn't had a camera since 2007, suddenly it does and it's "retarded" that it isn't higher resolution? This reminds me of how Apple went years without streaming their keynotes, suddenly they do, and all anyone had to bitch about is that it only worked on Macs and iDevices.

First world problems truly are the worst.

It's great that it has a camera, don't get me wrong, but it's how low quality it is. Seriously though...a .7MP camera? It's better than nothing, but for crying out loud, they could've had a 2MP or even a 3MP camera. IMHO.

To each their own, I'm thrilled for the better screen, faster processor and the fact that I'll have a camera with me now at all times.

The way I see it, this just rounds out and adds to the feature set the ipod touch has to offer. Which other mp3 player offers the feature specs and software like the touch? Not many...

maybe it's because it's so thin?

I remember something about the old nano not being able to take pictures because it wouldn't fit in the casing

Yep, if you look at the teardowns of the iPhone 4, the camera module is absolutely massive. Like it or not, Apple designs for aesthetics and user experience. If you want to buy a media player based on a spec list, there's a ton of other fish in the sea.

How do you transfer all of your stuff from an old iPod to a new iPod? Is it as simple as right clicking "Bob's iPod" under Devices in iTunes, selecting "backup", plugging in the new iPod, and then selecting "restore from backup"?

it took my iPhone less than a minute to restore
