Rofl, I could, but you weren't talking to me. I've been playing guitar for 30+ years. I'm not really a drummer, but I've learned to play percussion. I can't really teach you over a post, but here are a few quick tips: Use your wrist Whip the stick down; when you whip it down, it bounces off of the drum head, making it easier to play quickly Get a metronome To tune it, place your finger at the center of the drum head and press down. Grab a tuner and tune each drum head to the correct note by tightening or loosening the tuners. Start tapping around your fingers and if all of your taps create the same tone, then you are in tune. To dampen the sound, put rubber pads on the drum heads
HOLY SH*T! A lot of good info here, Thanks a heap guys! @Brian- Come on down (I'm south) man, we'll grill up some foods, check out some bonsai, and jam on some drums. All while enjoying a little something my friends and I call "the old man". @Jchampl- If you could help me on that I'd be much obliged. I've tried to find an easy way to save youtube videos, however I never got it to work. Would you mind telling me how to do that? Also I'd be very grateful to hear your lesson suggestions. @JoshC- Thanks man, I've started to notice that myself. Seems if you can get the high hat, snare, and bass going, then it's all about fills, and such. @Weedguy- Yeah I got the movement of the sticks down, and I can hold a simple beat now with the three main drums. Going to the toms, and cymbals are a bit tricky still, but I'm slowly getting a grip on it.
