I'd buy this if it wasn't for the fact it has just one map and the future maps will most likely be In App Purchases - which won't, I think, work with Jailbroken phones... pretty lame but there ya go... Jamie.
Finally managed to get online but had to use my router's FON (open) connection. The game obviously doesn't like those with an element of security to them (hidden ssid & wpa). Unless anyone else's does the same and has managed to connect ok.
This looks GREAT! Thanks for all the early reviews guys. I've added this to my appshopper want list and will wait for the price drop. How is the online matching? Does it work well to join up with friends and/or random people?
Not sure about known friends (don't have any who play this, sob) but the random matchup seemed to work very well. I was in a game very quickly, actually I think I hosted it, and the others just joined.
Actually, I don't have a 360 or PS3 (wife won't let me due to time/money/kids argument) so my iphone is my only gaming platform. One day.....
You talk about the attention span of a squirrel, and yet you can't be bothered to read 10 pages of a thread? That's irony right there.
You Made a small mistake: Crash bandicot is developed by polarbit! I think that Vivendi is only a publisher...
That's my first thought about the game as well, and I used to play Doom, CS, and Quake 3, so I thought Eliminate was a bad joke of an FPS as well, at first. One day I was bored, gave it a try (well it's free), and it turned out pretty well (you can actually move and aim at the same time). Mind you, it still doesn't beat a mouse and keyboard or a joystick (and I still think those are really bad jokes of controllers for FPS). Irony is the second part of my sig
If you took the graphic and animation assets from this game and put the on MC:S (with Gameloft controls intact) you would have a better game than MC:S. As they actually are, however, you can't really compare them -- they're completely different games.
Pretty good game, the two control sticks are the best control options. But they are too small or two far down! I kept missing the right stick which was extremely annoying, hopefully they make it bigger or something. Can't wait to give local multiplayer a go.
Well, I loved this mode in the PS3 version. I don't really have a problem with the price. However, since there is no price listed for the upcoming DLC, that is a problem. I may wait to see what the first DLC pack runs and then make a decision. For all I know, each map may run $9.99.
