So what exactly is good about it then? The map is like 20m x 10m, even smaller than Minigore's map. It's just a first-person 3D version of Minigore with much slower pace is it not?
No, it got the pricetag for the gameplay. I took the plunge and am overly glad that I did. Currently, this is my favorite game, and being able to take my favorite game add-on certainly justifies the price. It also just feels overly high-quality with the perfectly re-created map, the guns, and the sounds. My only two complaints are that the controls are a bit tough and that the ray gun is currently not functioning, but those can easily be overlooked. If you were at all a fan of the console version, it's even better than that. So it's not just the name you're paying for, it's the quality. I felt the same about Doom Resurrection, but once I played it, I was glad I paid for it.
Actually, it's much more fun and in-depth than Minigore. In Minigore it's straight up shooting, no strategy or upgrades. It's all one, flat landscape that has no walls or obstacles. This, on the other hand, has certain entry points for the zombies that you must defend, multiple rooms and floors, and even explosive barrels outside of the building. There is also a HUGE selection of weapons for an iPhone game. And don't forget the multiplayer.
Let's not bash Minigore. (Not that you guys are, but Minigore seems to be easily bashed) They are two completely different games. About the only thing they have in common is they are both survival games, but executed in two completely opposite ways.
opening private match in 5... anybody join but please dont leave early Heffdog116 make sure its capital H
Well for all the gameloft groupies, here's an honest to goodness look at how a real publisher gets it done. Feast your eyes on what a true "quality" iphone FPS looks like.
Ok so Minigore wasn't a good comparison, then it's similar to Alive 4Ever. Both games have multiplayer, and is essentially a survive-for-as-long-as-you-can and upgrade weapons game (but unfortunately that's all CoD is I think). Just because some people like the PC counterpart of CoD and support of the hype doesn't mean a simple iPhone zombie survival game should have that price tag. Stripped from its attention grabbing title this game shouldn't be worth more than $2.99, as there are lots of other multiplayer survival games for much less than that. I haven't played any CoD games as I'm not interested in modern war games, but I expected the iPhone version to be some form of staged modern warfare combat type thing similar to Sandstorm, but with higher quality since lots of people are complaining about Sandstorm.
Lol I'm not bashing Minigore. I actually like Minigore quite a bit. It's just nothing like Nazi Zombies. The fun in that game is more action and comedy oriented than NZ is. On the other hand, Minigore is nothing compared to Nazi Zombies. They're two totally different experiences.
Clearly, for a lot of people the game is worth $9.99. That's why they spent the money on it, that's why they're not crying bloody murder that they got ripped off. I cannot know how much it's worth to you; that's up to you to decide.
Yeah exactly, I just didn't want the thread to get derailed by Minigore haters. XD But I agree completely.
Just got the game and it's awesome, I actually like I'm playing the console versions, multiplayer is the best feature. But... Why is the Ray gun so bad? It doesn't do anything to the zombies!
You make a good point. Again, remember this is your preference. Some hate while others love it. Again, though, they're 2 different games. One is a dual-stick, top-down shooter, while the other is a first person shooter. Again, while its easy to make that sort of comparison while just reading it, gameplay wise they are totally different experiences. I love both games, but again, A-4-E has nothing on Nazi Zombies. It just feels like a quality console experience, something built for your Xbox, PS2, or PSP. Alive-4-Ever is more or less something built FOR the iPhone, while Zombies is a full console experience that has been put on the iPhone. Again, your choice whether it's worth the money, but I'm all in.
I enjoy the game a lot, however I'm still a bit miffed that I payed $10 for one map. I hope the new maps are relatively cheap... They're definitely ripping people off if they charge for new maps. However it's a good survival game, and overall is very high quality and feels like a complete package. I don't know if I'd reccommend it for casual gamers at the price it is. Wait for it to go down to around $5 or $6. But if you're into Call Of Duty or love FPS shooters... definitely go for it.
You just have to play it to understand. I've played a good 10 rounds of multiplayer and the game still feels fresh.
You do. You really do. Go get some money together, go to any store, and buy a gift card. I assure you, you will not be disappointed.
