Ok, so far the game is not bad, but unfortunately I feel as if I have seen everything it has to offer in about 10 minutes. Its much more of a zombie survival game than a full blown FPS (which could be good or bad, depending on your preference). The goal is to stay alive as long as possible, and your final score is posted to an online leaderboard. I still need to play co-op, but I imagine this game would be great for that. Graphically the game is decent, even if the textures are a little pixelated. I'll back Phil up on the dual stick controls as well: they are definitely not perfect when compared to Eliminate and MC, but still work fine for this type of game. The crosshairs also lock onto oncoming zombies to make things a little easier. However, one map is not a lot of content for $9.99, so I'm having trouble truly recommending it over much deeper and far less expensive titles. I still need to play co-op, so hopefully that adds enough to make the price a little more fitting.
If you buy this you've only got yourself to blame. When will people realise that idevices are not at all suited for FPS. There will ALWAYS be frustrations with the controls.
The controls look crap, but everyone is saying that twin stick controls are better, so I suppose they won't be as bad as that? And can you aim up/down for headshots?
the controls arnt too bad. you get used to them easily and theres also promise for DLC. the next map is verrukt and their already working on it the site is www.codwaw.com and its somewhere in the app saying all of this, i forget where. but also i cant connect to online. it cant connect to the servers or something
Umm... no? Eliminate and Modern Combat: Sandstorm were far from frustrating when it came to controls.
Just played a couple games and, wow, really really impressive. It has everything the xbox 360 version has (well, minus more maps that will come later), and it looks damn good on my 3GS. Consider my mind blown.
Awesome then. I quite liked Nazi Zombies on World at War, but sold it before any of the bonus maps came out. And my friend who has an iPod loved Nazi Zombies, I'll be showing him this tomorrow, looks like a lot of fun. Hopefully the DLC is free, but it's Activision, so it won't be.
