Well, the new update isn't out yet, but you won't need the new firmware anyway (in all likelihood). Most games don't require a 3.x OS right now anyway, and any new game that will require it would have had to be in development after it came out. Most developers try to stay away from games that require a new OS because that kind of a move just eliminates potential customers, because for people with older models (like me), the update isn't free.
For certain games it should be at 3.1.2 (sorry if I butchered that) I got the latest update last night so I should be good. While your browsing through the Appstore, whatever app your looking at always tells you its requirements/OS tested. Good to know before you buy.
i paid 10.00 for the update now its 5.00 when it should be free to all. just do not get why apple charges for the update. chris.
It's not an update, it's DLC. Just like with the console version, you have to pay for the new maps. It's not like anyone is making you buy the update, so if you don't want to pay for new content, then you don't have to. Plus, no one knows how much it will cost when it comes out. Oh, and it's not Apple making people pay for the new maps, it's the game's developer (Treyarch/Ideaworks, in this case) who chooses to charge people. And their business model works, so why should they offer for free what people are willing to pay for? EDIT: Oops, I thought that you were talking about the game update, not the firmware. As for that, I have no idea why Apple charges for it, other than it's additional features that allow iPhone content to be used in new ways.
You have to realize that a project of this quality requires a lot of time and overhead. If we get it free then yeah, thats a plus but I highly doubt the people at Activision are working for free. The answer is obvious. Ok misread. Its a way for apple to cover their costs.
I dunno what his position is, so he could be, but I don't think that a Twitter post is a good source of information for anything. Not to mention that he hasn't given us anything specific, just that Verruckt will come out soon.
JD is the community manager or something... they don't develop the game I think so, no, not in the credits.
hmm so basicily we are getting INFO FROM A GUY WE DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT JOB HE HAS nice real nice (sorry to yell)
I just looked him up. He's Treyarch's community manager, which essentially means that he gets payed to run that company's online community. It's sort of like being an admin, but actually getting paid to do it, from what I can tell. He probably also acts as their online PR person. So he knows what's going on within the company, but I'd be willing to bet that he's pretty far removed from development. EDIT: For the record, he's the same as I am (i.e. a Member). So please don't use that stereotype; judge based on individuals, not groups.
Um, no. He's a Treyarch employee who works online. Because of that, he isn't closely tied to the game development process, and probably only knows about the game's progress because some of the developers or proper PR officials gave him information to hand out to the community.
