True, but there's not much skill to it. I absolutely love this game, but I kinda wish there was an option to turn off at least the snap shot feature.
Jesus Christ I cannot imagine playing the game without the snap shot. Half the door gunner levels would be close to impossible even on normal without using, like, ten health packs, for starters. Not to mention I just tried survival with a sniper rifle and actually thought snapping between targets made the experience far more thrilling than fumbling with the virtual sticks - I don't see it as dumbing things down, I see it as more like Crackdown's auto-aiming, where you can blaze away without thinking if you want but you'll use far more ammo and score much less than carefully tweaking your shot once you're locked on.
The game has never crashed or slowed down at all for me on iPhone 5 or iPad 4. Your device might need a hard reset or a full restore to clean it out because the problem isn't with the game.
Ah yeah, that I can understand as games of this type are demanding but on an iPad 4, there should be absolutely no problem. That's not saying anything is wrong with the iTouch 5, its just there is a big power difference in the two and the other two posters are listed as having iPad 4's. The current "top" device is well able to run it. Especially if you only one crash. I think the slowdown might be caused when its communicating with AcTivate as I've seen it slowdown on lower devices when it is but not when it's offline. (Just in case, I'm not saying anything against the Touch 5, its just noting the power difference in the devices)
When you say "clear your cache" do you just mean quitting open applications on the "multitasking" bar? Or do you mean doing a restart of the device? Or something else?
You can do a hard reset (hold down the home and power button till you see the Apple symbol). For much faster results, though, use an app like System Activity Monitor to clear your RAM before starting the game.
Havent really played any FPS games on my iphone for a while (just sports and casual), but i used to be really good at MC4 with an over 3 k/d quite a while ago when it recently came out Is this worth getting now, or should i wait for something like MC5? And if you dont mind please list comparisons between the two. EDIT: Read that the controls arent customizable, thats a killer. Maybe ill wait for MC5, dead trigger 2, or battlefield like i heard of reading through this thread
Wow, Call of Duty Strike Team is pretty awesome! I'm actually pleasantly surprised cause the comments on the TA thread were all over the place. It is not a Nova 3 like game, but more of half a shooter like that, and half a strategic stealth, moving, and sniper game. Only 15 minutes in, but heck, I like it so far.
Modern Combat has... Bad voice acting Completely different gameplay from Strike Team Multiplayer in the style of Call of Duty Strike Team has... Tolerable voice acting Completely different gameplay from Call of Duty A campaign in the style of Rainbow Six meeting Call of Duty for a coffee break Frankly, you're not going to get comparisons, because the two games are completely incomparable. Hey, look everyone: entitlement!
Can anyone please tell me one thing? Can you pause the action in tactical view, and issue commands while paused? Thanks.
Bought this tonight, and upon going into this one with an open mind and low expectations I am pleasantly surprised. It captures the core feeling of Call of Duty and adds a whole new complexion to the gameplay with the Drone cam view, giving you a great way to plan your missions out prior to moving into the traditional first person view. Don't buy this expecting Modern Warfare or Black Ops from the Xbox or PlayStation, but at the same time consider that for five quid you're getting a full on mobile implementation of Call of Duty with some bold new gameplay mechanics thrown in for good measure. Who knows, we could be testing out a future feature of the full COD games going forward with the Drone cam view? Best of all though the game allows you to choose (after an enforced tutorial) to go between 1st person and Drone cam at will. You choose how to play the missions, there's no requirement to use the Drone cam but you WILL find yourself wanting to use it because it's so damn useful. Great game, highly recommend it. I am using an iPad 4 and it runs flawlessly, no slowdowns or frame rate issues and all graphical effects enabled. My wife, a fellow COD fan, has it on her iPad 3 and apart from a slightly noticeable drop in frame rate versus the iPad 4, it looks identical.
I've only played MW2, but I've seen enough gameplay of Black Ops 2 to see that they really nailed the vibe of a CoD game. The added Third person stealth is so awesome. Think about the best plan to trap someone and dispose of their body before guards notice is so great! The third person view has really grown on me, it just works so well. I really need to stop posting in this thread, but the game is just so damn good!
Loving the survival mode. Made it to wave 32. . Wish they had some smg's on here also, maybe some camos for the guns and scope attachments, also reticals for the scopes. The controls are a bit irratating. Also the graphics on iPad 4 are the same as iPad 2. Weird huh. Hope to see a activison dev here. Never will happen. Just got out of time out
Oh don't worry, no offence taken - it wasn't a HOW DARE IT NOT RUN ON MY SUPER-POWERFUL DEVICE post, it was a "Well, if all I've had on my iTouch is one crash, there must be something up with that guy's iPad" post. See that? Over your head? I'm guessing it's his point. Stamping your feet over a developer refusing to allow control remapping might be whining, but politely asking if the game allows it or not is hardly entitlement, even if you did stick an emote in your post. I doubt it'd ever be a gamebreaker for me but I can understand someone not wanting to pay a premium price for a game they know doesn't let them put the buttons where they want.
