It's actually an extremely interesting (and well made) deviation from the standard formula of the CoD series. Instead of being run-and-gun, it's more focused on stealth and strategy, planning your actions before execution. Also, you're not being clever by calling it "Caw of Doody". Stop it.
Oh man I heard nice things on this thread but boy were they true. It's different not all running and gunning. I love the tactical portion, that's the deal maker. It feels so solid. The "snap" aim is probably one of the best features because when you're getting shot at and can barely move quick enough, it'll auto aim for you. Great stuff!
Hmmm, one side seems to love it. Another side dislikes the ai or controls. Hard to gage this, is it worth Ninjackid's seven bucks?
This game is easily worth it. It has a couple of issues with team AI that should be an easy fix but is easily countered by top down and keeping team in cover or utilising your full team effectively by switching to different members in first person for different movements/strategies/weapons. I'm actually not even sure that the AI is a problem at all if you utilise the team right. I haven't lost a team member yet as I switch to each a lot for positioning or various weapon load outs. The controls are no problem at all. At least for me but this kind of shooter is my primary genre so its possible I'm just used to them. The snap on enemy is a very useful addition and ADS has two active options (double tap screen or dedicated button). Overall, this is an extremely solid entry in both the first person shooter and top down tactical and having both in one makes it a very satisfying and engrossing experience. Easily one of the best shooter experiences available on iOS and a massive step forward for Activision and their commitment to mobile.
Game Impressions And... Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel ...that would be the first Campaign Let`s see what is left after that: Well we have got... ...the first Survival Map (Arctic: A cold Day in Hell) and I could try to nail some of those... or could replay the current Missions of the first Campaign to collect all those shiny... or I could simply just load up... ...the next Campaign and keep playing the Main Story till i fall asleep. Yes I know that the AI is bad and that it`s almost an sacrilege that the Game is currently missing an Multiplaye Mode but as long as it doesn`t have got the Multiplayer Update I`m sure I won`t get bored even a minute
It's good. It's got flaws, and one of them is that there's auto-aim, but it's generally good. Controls are acceptable standard FPS (on FPS), top-down view (known ingame as Drone view) controls are decent, graphics are pretty nice, non-stop commentary and instructions from HQ, may be cliche (cant tell much on this yet) but somehow interesting storyline, loadout customization, nice weather effects, a bit of exploration to find intel, good strategic angles with drone view, 2-man climbs and other team maneuvers, mounted weapons operation, and nice cinematic animations. I wont be surprised if we're able to drive vehicles later in the game. Some noticeable flaws... Drone view makes killing too easy (tap to kill when the enemy isnt firing), First person mode has auto-aim and "next target" buttons, team AI is crap (you have to babysit each one to a vantage point, and it's required they have vision of each other to have them stay in position. This condition actually demands a bit more strategy to your positioning and approach, which is kinda nice). Overall a good game.
I'm really glad that they didn't do any "unlock weapon early with tokens" BS. I've only spent like ten tokens so far, and most of those were for ammo for survival. I have over 700 of them. Edit: there are packs with guns only included in those packs, so I was wrong, but for the most part, it's a very premium game.
It gets a lot more challenging around missions 9 and 10. The tactical switching between the two viewpoints really comes into play the further you get into the game. I like this a lot!
I haven't tried the survival mode yet. Do you know if it is FPS only or with both views where you can change from FPS to birds view?
