I disagree, because I'd been playing FPS for years before I got CoD... even though it's a different game there are certain skills you can bring over that stop you from totally sucking.
Who, at age 13, just decides to jump into gaming? I find it really weird that you have never played an FPS before, and now all of a sudden are jumping into buying a 360 and all of this stuff.
What's weirder is the 13 year old boys who think every thread is their blog, and constantly posts updates on stuff going on in their lives nobody else gives a shit about.
Well I was 18 when I really got into gaming. The late start could be for all kinds of reasons, like strict parents, lack of cash, or in my case a general lack of interest until I found a game I could really get into. A good friend of mine only started when she was 22 when her boyfriend introduced her to borderlands.
Wow, thank you Treyarch. You'd think they might have actually tested the PC version for bugs and glitches, but nah. Also this. On the rare chance that I do find a game, the lag is unbearable. In GunGame, Python + Lag = no kill ever.
I got to spend around 5 hours playing the multiplayer some more tonight. I don't feel as positive about the online as my first impressions made me feel about the game, I'm noticing glitches, lags, cheapshots, and just a lot of areas that lack polish, mainly to the gameplay. I still dig the singleplayer campaign a lot but the multiplayer.. although set up well as far as leveling up and still being fun to play is probably more like a 7 or 8 outta 10 as far as the actual gameplay goes. After seeing the maps for the first few times you get that been there done that feeling because there isn't enough new stuff to the gameplay. Graphics and effects are a big disappointment in this game for me, there are some nice environments but everything else is blahhh. MW2 (and even MW1) have this one beat in those departments. For the amount of hype this game got I don't think its gonna live up to it, a few cool things here and there in the beginning but ultimately nothing new enough to convince me they didn't partially rush this game out to make a ton of money before Xmas. The CoD series is starting to show sign of laziness as far as creativity and design goes, even as far as the graphics/effects go they could have done a much better job nowadays.
They've built a brand name that they can literally plaster on to a cat turd and millions of people will buy it. Much like the Madden games, I wouldn't expect much more out of the Call of Duty series than incremental refreshes with one or two new things. Not that this is a bad thing, but the Call of Duty series is a major cash cow, and as far as the developer/publisher see it, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
I am really enjoying this on the PS3. I buy the new CoD every year and usually will play online until the new version comes out. Being able to take someone online vis split screen was a nice addition this year.
Played it today. I have to say that it gives you what you get. The reason you should buy this game is for new maps and campaign (split-screen multiplayer is prety good though). Don't go into this expecting an amazing original FPS with crazy new features and being a must have etc. Nothing spectacular to be honest.
Yes but Modern Warfare 2 didn't have split screen campaign (story) and World at War wouldn't let you save in split screen story mode. It would be nice but I am happy with the split screen online addition for combat training, zombies and vs.
Eh, if it's just a map pack with a few enhancements I think I'll skip it, or at least wait until it's in the bargain bin. There are too many exciting new games around for me to keep falling back on the stuff I've seen and done.
