    I hate the new logo.
Any work towards swapping cards ? Or is this officially now a non-trading card game ?
    Thanks !

    Answers to some common questions

You can play the game in offline mode without registering or logging in and choose one deck from the 4 starter decks before going against AI opponent (single player).

At the moment, a new tutorial is 98% done and should help in learning Cabals. However, the game is quite complicated anyway and as such it will not please everyone.

The level up rewards system will be changed in the Expansion. An update coming after that will include a feature that will also reward the players.

Not at the moment. However, once the expansion is out, we want to increase overall game stability and start developing the asynchronous mode. But, more information about this will be posted when our plans are more accurate. That is, after the expansion.

    About trading

A trading system will be implemented at some point, definitely. The new level-up reward method and adjustments made into Cabals shop will make the trading system even more viable. It will be added as an update later.

Does this mean you're going to replace singles sales with a player to player market from here on out? And are you finally implementing the "conversion" system for extra commons and such?

    Uprising Expansion Announced

    Uprising Expansion Announced
    2012-12-17

On the aftermath of celebrating the 1st Birthday, on this week's Wednesday the 19th the long awaited Cabals Expansion will be released.

The original “Cabals: The Card Game”, published in late 2011, presented an alternative history of Europe between the two World Wars. It threw the player in the middle of a power struggle between four esoteric factions about to decide the fate of the continent. Shamanistic rituals, scientific alchemy, Celtic lore and subterranean energies were harnessed in this underground war. In charge of one of the societies, the player tried to win single battles by conquering the stronghold of the opponent or by dominating the game board. The outcome of the battle was decided by playing cards that represented units or events.

“The Uprising” expands the Cabals universe into the shores of Northern Africa and Eastern Asia, where two new secret societies are challenging the rule of the British Empire and the European factions. In addition to the new societies and cards the expansion adds two new ways of winning the game.

End of Season Two - Leaderboard Reset

The expansion marks the end of season two leaving yet another milestone behind as Cabals moves forward. Leaderboards will be reseted as the renewed system is put into place. Top Players, the true heroes of Cabals will be immortalized on the Cabals Hall of Fame as the struggle for power continues.

    Upcoming changes

    • New Factions
    • New Heroes
    • Dozens of new cards
    • New playing styles
    • Level cap increased to 100
    • Easier to level up
    • Level up reward-system upgraded
    • Online experience rewards increased
    • Interactive tutorial
    • Balance changes and card tweaks
    • New single player content
    • New maps
    • Game menus have gone through a makeover
Making room for the upcoming in-game card selling and player-to-player card trading, single card shop removed, that's why we highly recommend for those who are looking to acquire a certain hero or single card, do it before the 19th.

Heroes will receive rarities and new pricing:
    • 100inf-common (starter deck heroes)
    • 200inf-uncommon (update heroes)
    • 400inf-rares (dual heroes and other special heroes)

    Wow,
very big update. Tried one of the new factions, liked it very much.

I play mostly against the AI (I know, I know), so I'm really interested in the "New playing styles" and "New single player content" you mentioned above. While I'm very, very pleased with this update (and don't want to be impatient), still cannot wait for a beefy SB mode or campaign.

It's weird to talk to myself like this but I can't believe this game is still not mainstream. I mean come on, the gameplay is solid (for me it's Summoner Wars advanced), the artwork is superb, the lore is fascinating, and the devs are so committed AND they are quite active here. The silence is unbelievable here. They released a major update, for the love of god.

Easily, oh so easily explained. Sync mode has been plague by connection issues since day one and has never been satisfactorily addressed or resolved.

The game absolutely REQUIRES an async mode to be successful.

I've been through too many aborted synced sessions that cost me wins and there are many players who feel the same way. If the game was async, this problem would not exist and frankly, it should have happened long ago.

The game is wonderful. The artwork is superb. It needs async.

amn624 just hit the nail perfectly, well said. Let's hope the devs listen.
Other than that, anyone played with the new cards? So far so good, in SP I mean.

Everything that above poster said. In the beginning, the devs were forthcoming and communicative over the inclusion of async, but they eventually stopped responding to our queries on the subject.

Which is a durned shame. There is normally no reason other than development time and money for any turn-based iOS game not to have async. Cabals, in particular, needs it, devs. We need it to enjoy the game fully.

Also, properly implemented, async is all gain and no loss. If it only activates once a player leaves/disconnects from a game, it takes away nothing from the realtime experience. It also serves as the most powerful form of disconnect protection (useful even for those who only like to play in realtime).

But perhaps most importantly, many of us simply do not have the time to play online if we can't take the turns at our own leisure, pace and convenience (not even in games commonly touted as too quick for async, such as BattleCon and Hero Mages). Even if whole games only lasted for seconds, simply meeting up online and arranging games, and trying to find time slots where we and our iOS gaming pals can play at the same time, is enough of a hassle that async is an asset. In the asynchronous world, games can be arranged at any time, and both players can simply go online and play in realtime at any time they notice the other player taking her turn.

Nasty problem it has been indeed, has taken way too much time to get to the roots of it.

Now that the expansion is out and people are enjoying it, we'll do ourselves and the players a favor and polish the game. It is something that we have neglected while being busy developing new stuff.

There won't be async in the next update either, but after intensive in-house testing and with the help of active community, we're getting rid of the LC issues atleast.

    Mika -

I really, really appreciate your commitment to Cabals and your communications with your customers but I sincerely fear you still do not comprehend what you have here. Cabals is UNIQUE. The game should be far more successful but it will not ever get to that point until async is implemented.

I have played games as long as 45 minutes in the early release but that was a one-time situation and for most of the folks I know, it's simply not possible. I can't wait that long to change the baby's diaper. I can't wait that long because the doorbell is ringing. I can't wait that long because a light bulb just blew and my wife can't change it. There are several million reasons why games can't be completed in one sitting and this is what keeps me away from Cabals and away from spending bucks on new cards.

I wish you guys all the best but sorry, it's async or nothing for me.
