By the way, there's an irc channel #cabalscg at Quakenet. In-game chat will be implemented later, but until then there's a good place to hang around and chat with fellow Cabals gamers about strategies and duels... (http://webchat.quakenet.org/) Welcome! So what decks are people playing? Are you playing mono or are you splashing? I've put together a pretty reasonable deck in all four factions and given them all a good work out but I seem to enjoy playing with (and have most success with) the Danann Covenant the most. I really love the flavour of the Bearclaw Brotherhood and I think Bear Spirit is probably my favourite card in the game at the moment; there's just something undeniably awesome about a Tough - 5 Power soviet bear tank cruising around the board demolishing everything in it's path. Also splashing green for Sidh and dropping a Striga on top of your opponent is incredibly satisfying. The Vril Society baffle me, when I play against them I often get demolished and yet when I try to play with them I often lose heavily. I obviously haven't been able to grasp the subtleties of playing with them yet. Finally the Order of Zahir, I agree with what's been said already in the thread about them needing a slight buff somewhere but even now I hate playing against them, a well timed 13th Chair followed by a Rose of the Closed Garden is brutal. One idea I had was to change the Depraved Aristocrat's ability from "When deployed: subtract 2 resources from opponent" to "When deployed: subtract 1 resource from opponent and gain 1 resource" the net gain is still the same and it still spoils you opponents plans for their next turn but it also gives you a tiny bit of ramp.
hearing these reassuring assessments of zhir is promising. I'll keep working on it. I don't need to be a leader. I'd just like to be competitive. And, hearing both the (or one of) developer and a high-ranked player admit zhir's promise makes me happy. I'll keep trying.
My main deck is a Bearclaw domination one. Full on control and freezing the game, and ways of gaining an upper hand in the domination race. As I'm not very worried about running out of resources (I often don't even play all the cards I could in a given turn), I've splashed it with Sidh and Banshees from Danann. The current performance of the deck is about 15 wins - 1 lost. I'm also running a Zahir deck, but I'm still tweaking that. It's performed decently, but there is still ways to go. I think the trickiest part is finding a proper cost curve while getting all the good cards in. But I'll continue working on this one - I really like the style of Zahir, so I'm determined to finding a formula to making it work. A Danann deck will be my project for this weekend. I used to play one in beta, so I know they can be lots of fun, but I still need to sit down and properly think about what I want to do with it. Something along the lines of 20 power Bear Spirit would be nice
I dunno if it's just me, but the random timing out thing is getting a bit much. I've lost upwards of 70 points today simply due to losing contact with the servers. If seeing the pop-up window reporting the loss wasn't bad enough, what's even worse is when your opponent just spins and spins and nothing alerts you that the connection was even severed. The only way out of this is to either forfeit the game or force quit the app, which I assume is the same thing. I guess there's nothing that can be done, but it's kinda killing the mood, ya know? What is the deal with the rankings, anyway? I assume you only gain points when winning matches against someone who's higher than you, but that doesn't always seem to be the case. Of course, since 95% of my matches are with people in the 1200-1500's and the rest are mostly time outs, I don't really have a accurate pool of data to go by.
Hey, mika -- can you comment on when you're planning on a method to put extra copies of cards to good use -- whether selling them back or some other way? It's not in this upcoming update is it?
If I recall correctly, there's a post a few pages back that says that selling cards will be in the Spring 2012 update. I'm looking forward to that since I have a number of excess cards.
It will not be included in the first update. On the other hand, giving exact dates is never a good idea. Because in the end its not even entirely in our hands alone. Cheers! Mika
This is rough, I made myself a deck I though was pretty good, but I keep getting owned lol. Never have the cards i want at the right time.

Are there any complete patch notes anywhere? Has the timeout bug been sorted? (oh god please) Super impressed with you guys, this game is a gem. Really noticing more people playing online this weekend and that the skill level has really ramped up as people get familiar with the cards.
Yes, my top priority would also be the AI issue. It's unplayable as it is at this moment (love the single player mode). I stopped playing after realized it's THAT slow after lvl 10. I mean it killed me completely this otherwise amazing game, which is a shame. Let's hope they fix this asap.
Not a bad game, though I think the instructions could be clearer, particularly an atlas on the card itself, for newbies.
