To Mika First of all, thank you. The ability to invite and play "friendly" matches would be a huge plus. Hopefully, at some point, your team might want to develop some kind of Campaign mode. Async would be phenomenal. I plan on sticking around to play this game for a long time. So far, you guys have done a fantastic job.
It's frustrating trying to play yellow right now. It desperately needs a good 2Y or 1YY play. It makes me sad because I love its 3/4 turn plays. Snake charmer and assassin are my types of cards. On the other end, in order to make yellow (and greed) more splashable, they need better 3L drops. Blue has spriga and red has 2 in hexenbanner and rocketeer. The more I think about it, the more I feel that the 3L cards are integral to splashing potential. Bought out my Dannan deck a few days ago. I haven't found a balance that I really like as of yet. My hand fills up with cards -- and the choice stays on whether to provide additional threats or apply more pressure via the buffs that Dannan is so strong in. Maybe once I get some more blue, I'll be able to balance it better.
Totally know what you mean about the Zahir deck. It's more about deck balance and playing style though, if you really wish to play Zahir I would suggest you start with 3 Library Guardians and 3 Bramin Engineers. And start building on top of that. Once you get even 1 Engineer in play, the opponent will be having hard time. The quality in yellow cards is still good, the price is just high if you don't enforce the resource gaining. I have beaten the top decks with Zahir, even though they have nice decks and they are good players. But Zahir might still need some love (buffing), it just needs to be based on facts rather than feelings. I shall post more factual details (data) later about the games between each hero and such. So there will be no room for guessing after that, only for speculation Cheers! Mika
Ooooh can't wait for the expansion... Several features like Friendlists and matchmaking makes me feel giddy with excitement! Hope you guys buff yellow soon =]
I've just read Mika's update post and I feel like a little boy on Christmas morning If all that you say is true, then WOW. To say you have planned ahead for years to come is an ambitious statement, make no mistake. I don't see how you can commit to a game for that long when it has only just been released, but I sure hope that you do. This level of support for an iOS TCG is unprecedented. I'm very much looking forward to the update.
You are right, yellow needs a small buff but they aren't as bad as you might think. I am currently a high-ranked player (Quauru), playing mainly with blue and I hate it to play against a yellow player, who really knows how to play effectively. It's all about the perfect timing, to know, when you have to play 13th-Chair and Snake Charmer and when not. At the first glance it seems to be easier than it really is.
Well, I'm officially obsessed. I had to plug my phone in three times yesterday from playing so much. Seriously, I've owned an iPhone for almost 4 years now and have played many "greatest hit" titles, but after an hour or so was ultimately bored with them all. Slicing fruit, slinging obstanant birds, achievements, tower defense, time management, lazy ports, and non tactile button platforming just don't do it for me. I've been waiting for Cabals for a long time! Okay, actually, I've been waiting for WOTC to offer MTG on iOS, but in a lot of ways this is even better. I have a bunch of suggestions, but two stand out as the most pressing. I'm sure they've been mentioned already, but I'd love to see the inclusion of Mulligans and the ability to view the entire contents of both players discard piles. Both of these elements would greatly enhance gameplay, in my opinion. Other than that, just wanted to say thanks for a great game! I feel privileged to be a part of its fledgling stages. Can't wait to see where it goes.
Starter decks cost 300 and you get at least one of every card. Playsets cost 1500 and you get three of each card. If I buy three starter decks, I'm guaranteed between 3-9 of each card, for the price of 900 Influence. So why would I spend a whopping extra 600 Influence for much less cards? Or am I missing something?
If anyone is not aware of this, each card's rarity is shown in the colour of the card's name: a grey name means the card is common, green is uncommon and blues are rare. Nice touch.
Starting decks don't include at least one of each card. For example, Danann starting deck is missing at least Banshee, Valburg's Night, and Fomhorian Brute, possibly some others too. The ready made playsets will probably become more relevant with the updates too, when new cards are added to each cabal.
I have an issue, and haven't been able to register on the cabals forum for some reason. Could a dev or someone associated with the game PM me? My issue is preventing me (literally) from buying influence influence and I would love to get it sorted out so I can buy the deck I have been planning.
I have also been unable to register with the Cabals forum. I had no issues with the actual registration process, which seems to have gone through fine, I just haven't received my confirmation email yet and I registered several hours ago. Perhaps they are just busy? I hope I get it soon.
I dont, one has nothing to do with the other. I would just rather be posting my payment issue in their own forum rather than this one, except I cant access their forum
Same issue here...also received no confirmation email when registering on the forum. I got a respons from KYY yesterday, stating they were working on the forum, and that it should work soon...
I had the same issue with forum registration. I PM'd Kyy about it and he said it was a server thing and should be resolved in a couple days.
