Bearclaw and Danann. I'd like to get cabals that can be combined, and I like those two better than Vril and Zahir.

I would buy Vril's Mob if i need an aggressive deck and Bearclaw Brotherhood if i need a passive deck. If you like boosted creatures and can destroy other units easily buy Danaan Covenant because of Banshee.

So as with other card games lets face it some are usually broken, some are too weak, etc. How is the balance in this game, pretty decent, or is everyone using the same decks?

Is it all about the cards you have, or is it luck, or is it more about strategy?

It's free to play. Get it and try. That's te idea behind free to play apps.

This game seems fairly well balanced so far to me anyway. Deck usage percentages were posted a few pages back.

It's a pretty even split. The boardgame aspect of this ensures a higher level of necessary strategy. That said, to be competitive at the top, you'll need decent cards.

There are, of course, some issues with balance currently -- but only in that some are having trouble making one color competitive: yellow (which is too bad because it's my favorite play style). The other three are very competitive with equal strategy backing them. However, any one of them is at a huge disadvantage if his deck is constructed badly or he plays badly. Give it a go. It's a lot of interesting stuff for a very reasonable price.

Agreed about Zahir cards being the weakest in the game. Just fought against 3 yellow players in a row and they all lost to my Danaan deck. Living Void was practically useless against my deck. I did lost to a few rasputins and tarnharis after that though.

Personally I'd go for one of each of Primal and Dominion as they're very different.

That said every faction offers something, the best advice I can give for new players is play a bit and see what cards you really like and want to play with and just go with those.

It's good to win but you'll have more fun if you play with the cards that you enjoy drawing rather than just having the "best" deck.

I haven't done the math, but I think you'll get more bang for your buck not buying complete playsets. Instead, you might consider buying starter sets and supplementing them w/ single-card purchases.

But, if you are going to buy complete playsets, I'd suggest Red and either green or blue. Most people run mono-red decks. You'll have a full and complete deck just from buying the set. Green and Blue splash a bit. But both are pretty rare-dependant. You'll get more bang for your buck by going blue. And while each can be perfected by splashing 4-6 cards from the other, I think blue probably works better on its own.

There aren't enough cards for Cabals to be considered a ccg. New sets, every 3-4 months, 50 cards per set. Get on it Kyy.

Thanks that was what i was looking for, and I am not really going for bang for buck, just figured I would spend twenty thurs on this, since these guys listened to us. Got to love a non stubborn developer who obviously wants to make people happy and make money.

Very welcome. I encourage anyone playing this game to start posting on its official forums. The earlier it becomes a go-to, the more everyone can benefit from the well of knowledge of those much better than me.

While I absolutely agree, the only thing i'd say in defense of the game in its current state is that it's board game characteristics allow it to resemble a very compelling board game Right now. As more cards become available, the dynamic will change. But, for now, it's much more strategic than it's based on construction and supply -- that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Great work on rebalancing the Influence cost for cards; I think they're at just the right price range.

And since this just came out, I'm not expecting any new cards or boards any time soon. Kyy Games seems to be dedicated to Cabals, so I'm not really worried. ~

I think the true test of Kyy's commitment to Cabals will come one year from now. If they are still supporting the game then and we are still seeing content updates, then I will be very pleased. As it is, this influence restructuring is a mighty promising start and Kyy seems to have the right attitude towards customer support. Time will tell, but I'm quietly confident because Cabals has had such a good start.

Is anyone else experiencing lag with single player matches? I've noticed that the AI takes somewhat longer to decide on its moves recently. I'd usually peg slowness in games on my Internet connection, but this hasn't happened before.

Did you reach lvl 10 by any chance? The AI gets much more difficult at that level and lags more. The devs are going to optimize it to be faster, hopefully already with the next patch (due in a few weeks).

Ohh. I'm at level ten, so it's probably that. I was worried that this was a problem on my end that couldn't be fixed. I'm actually relieved to hear that the AI gets smarter with time; I like challenges outside multiplayer.
    Thank you for the reassurance.

While it gets 'smarter' it doesn't get that much better at playing the game. I've had it actually clear the path to it's stronghold for me on mountain pass by moving everyone out of the way. Mighty kind but I felt like I was cheating :p
