Also the trees are actually 2d until your 10 units away (15 feet) the grass is always 2d and rotates with the camera... The trees branches and leaves also rotate to show the player the lushest looking looking view possible... This allows good looking trees and grass with next to no mem or ram usage... As for ai path-finding we create a navigational mesh from the terrain and let it pinpoint solid objects this allows the ai to path-find it's way around objects without the need to search for solid objects in its way it already knows because of the navigational mesh...this allows it to be smarter and pick multiple paths to you...
Its great that you learning unity and testing it all out on a pc and having early alpha versions thats fine. But your video says "this is how it looks on an iphone 4 it will have better textures on newer devices" when you know yourself it will never look like that that on an iphone 4 and thats before you have added enemy ai,collisions,weapons,sounds,dynamic loading,gui...... Its just your making promises you wont be able to deliver and your going to have to redo all of those planet terrains. its better you find out no what is and is not possible. Its not that me and Alienspace are against what your doing we actually want you todo well and achieve something but maybe this project is so big. its looking like a two or three year game. are you really still going to be doing this in 3 years? If i was you just focus on getting one playable level done first that would work fully on the iphone with all features, you dont have to release it but you could then use that to fund a kickstater or something. i think a kickstater would struggle with what you have now. a short playable demo would really help and prove your capability of getting it on the iphone.
I understand you are not against us and you are indeed being very helpful I want no confusion on that point... And you are right a kick starter right now would be a flop which is why I said I wouldn't post one until after the second beta which will be on iOS... I don't want to take money from anyone until they can play a demo on there iOS devise... I even contacted Ryan today just woke him up and he will be back in town soon when he is we will show some levels on his iPhone... As for creating a single level with everything in it we are doing that it is coming along good and will be the base for the second beta... I don't want anyone to thank that we would con them out of money, when the kick starter launches it will be after the second beta so people can test it on there phone...and as for 3 more years of development I don't think it will take that long... If it does then it does I've already put two years into it... I think it will be done near the end of this year seeing as the ai is done the quest system and dialogue and leveling and class selection and armor attachments and many locations are getting to be 50 ish% complete as for the terrain being reworked Ben has created a plug in that adds a slider to the terrain options that reduces the poly count of the terrain... I hope I didn't come across as rude that was not my intentions...
Sorry if the video was unclear I meant this is how the textures would look on iPhone 4... The terrains and other things are deff subject to change... In fact almost everything is that's why the thread says WIP the whole purpose of my posting about the game here is to tell the ta readers what were doing and to give them an idea of our progress and also to get ideas and feed back like what you are doing threecubes I don't want you to stop I don't want you to tone it down... I think what you are doing is great and we have taken a lot of the things you say to heart and are using them in the game...so please don't stop...

I think you need to fix the way you're typing right now. I'm not trying to be rude but there seems to be lots of spelling mistakes. I think for a game dev, this is important because customers really expect a clear description of a game

Hey hey! This is Jon. I am currently helping Zack with a few features of his game here. Music being my main contribution. I am also helping with a few other details. Such as story and quests. I have a big interest in the science fiction genre. And one of my favorites of all time is the Mass Effect series. We are putting quite the time and effort into this game. It is the product of several hardcore gamers that want to create a good sci-fi game that is to our liking. I think this game could surprise you with all that we have in store for you. I would also appreciate it if you let me know what you think of my music.
As the ai notices you it will change from the planets main track to a more chaotic one and after 30 seconds after the threat is over the music fades and changes back into the slower planetary track... Jon's going to work so I'll be jumping in 4 now...

Well this is more like a classic scifi game... If you want fallout on your phone you should look at infinity project 2... It's a great game and easily one of my favorite feels very fallouty...
