Lol funny thing is it ran perfectly on my iPod 3 nova 3 that is... Yes there are texture detailed sliders and it looks good for iPod 4 but no promises...

PERFECTLY? Define perfectly. As in, no lag at all, and fully detailed textures? Heck, my 4G has low res textures and it's still slow as heck.

    Glad for options, though! :D

I can't wait for this game,it looks fantastic how's the game coming along? And if you had to give a percentage, what's the overall readiness of the game

Everything is coded which is about 45% of the game new 3d modules are being constructed and worlds are being built and the quest and dialogue is being written so around 45 % done... But the rest is the fun part and now that we have 8 members it will go so much faster... The new video is about 51% uploaded and I will post a link for it when it's done, it will showcase the game in the resolution required for iPhone 4 so textures will be better on newer devises...

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news again but I am actually doing this to try and help.

What your showing in these videos simply won't work on a mobile device. It's no good just saying this is the texture quality of an iPhone 4 will use. It's more than just draw calls and textures sizes. Just because your draw calls are low does not mean it will run fine, it depends on what each draw call is actually drawing each frame. I'm telling you now that those planet surfaces won't work on an iPhone or any iOS Device and having bump spec and reflect shaders will kill your game.

You carnt draw grass as far as the eye can see, you carnt have unity terrain that complex. You seem to have thousands of trees??? And ontop of that you have a projected per pixel light with a cookie attached. That's like drawing that massive terrain 3 times. In reality on an iPhone 4 you can have about ten mesh trees rendering and a very short draw distance on grass. also the physics interaction with that terrain will also be a killer. Every tree needs a cylindrical collider then every character and enemy will have to check with every single tree collider and the massive terrain collider and if they start firing they will need to check it all twice. its actually the physics and the scripting that will really kill you. there is no magic optimize button. plus you will spend months developing a dynamic loading system as the ipod touch only has around 100mb of ram before you game will crash.

There is a reason other games don't do this. How many per pixel lights does MC4 have, none. It does not even have vertex lighting, there are absolutely no lights in MC4 no bump maps and no spec maps.

Please actually try exporting your work to an iPhone before you make anymore promises. Otherwise your going to do loads of work and it's all for nothing.

Again sorry for being "that guy" again but I don't want to see you give up in 6 months time.

I hate to be Party Pooper #2, but I'm going to agree with That Guy. :)

Seriously, the amount of stuff you're promising is A LOT of work. I know, I've worked on AAA games that didnt even deliver that much stuff. Did I mention it's A LOT of work?

Slapping some meshes and stock characters into Unity is fine and all, but at the end of the day what I see in the videos is like 10% of a game. You still need scripting, levels, weapons, actual final art with animations, particle effects, more scripting, sound effects, an entire front end, a HUD, game/profile load and saving, game balancing, optimizations, bug fixing... and I can go on some more, but that's off the top of my head. And once you have all that stuff you might still not have a fun game.

    My suggestions:

    1. Narrow and focus the scope of the game
    2. Dont show alpha builds of the game
    3. Get gameplay working first, then art.
    4. If you're targeting iPhone, get it working on iPhone early. A lot of that stuff on the videos simply wont run on iPhone 4 at any decent framerate without a lot of optimizations.

I've seen, and worked on, big games with large teams that were brought to their knees because of overly ambitious game designs.

    Good luck!

Once again don't be sorry I was glad when you said it last time I am glad that you've said it now... It allows me to explain... No the worlds would not be able to run and there are to many aspects in the terrain an there is to much grass... But this I the build for computer...and we have indeed tested the game out on iOS devises namely my friend Ryan's iPhone in that particular area he (grass and trees) he was getting about 10 fps(what the debugger said) and it dropped some more when real physics were involved... So on planets like that yes there will be major changes manly the in animation of grass the reducing of trees and smoothing of terrain... Thank you for your concern and please keep it up... But I would like you to know that A. This is a computer build and we were just testing drawl cal and texture B. this is still early in development... And C. We have had it running on a 4s not great but it ran... As for the light it i just there as a standard directional light... Thank you please continue to post...

Please don't take this as me being rude but I just don't want to type the same thing twice... So please look at my previous post above... Also I would like to add that some art is indeed stock unity assets but once again that are place holders... And we have exported on iPhone even before I posted here... We are not yet ready to show it though as you said the frame rate sucked... This game has been two years in the making... And we will continue optimizing and soon be able to show it off on phones...
If being overly ambitious is our problem than it is a good problem to have...wish more developers had this problem... Lol thank you again for posting I hope in the future when we show the game running on phones this will give the proof that back up my words...

Not yet but if things continue to go as smooth as it has recently than yes it will be on the iPad...
