i often buy games i cant even play sumtimes, for example ill see a great come out like infamous 2, and even though i dont own a PS3 I'll buy it anyway, just cuz I can. also just won street fighter 4: 3d Edition on eBay, even though I have yet to buy the system. Same goes for the iDevice platform. I own an iPod touch, but every now and then I'll just buy an app that looks great on another device (most recent was GTA Chinatown HD) just wondering who else does this.
Every time there's a Steam sale I usually spend anywhere between $50-100 on games I know are great. Catch is, I don't even own a Windows PC.
Wow, interesting question, Bat. Didn't know that you are able to be serious. Well - why should I buy games I can't play? I am slightly... confused.
I do buy a lot of apps which I know I'll never get the time to play but there is no way I'm gonna buy something if I dont even own the device (or plan to own one soon enough). Buying a PS3 game when you dont even plan to buy the PS3 is just dumb
When I had my old 2nd generation iPod, my accelerometer was completely broken after a year or so. Yeah, I dropped it too many times. Turns out, a lot of games use tilt for the smallest parts of the game, making it impassable without the accelerometer. Of course, there were quite a few good games that were tilt only as well. And of course, the NFS series on the iOS had to be the only racing games that didn't support touch controls, lol. Yeah, those few months really sucked. The 4th generation with retina, 4x the memory, and everything else it came with was really a blessing.
"It's just the feeling of having them that makes me want them. It's like buying a rare comic book and not reading it. "
I've done this a few times by accident - downloading Apps that don't support my iPhone because I haven't read the description through properly but I've never done it on purpose. Man if I had the money to just buy stuff I couldn't even use...
I would never do that... But I do buy the same games for other systems. Like having Orange Box on steam, Xbox, and Xbox 360. That's $100+ for one game And I am planning to do the same for Portal/Portal 2 for Xbox 360, Steam, and iOS (?)
If they're not lubricated, they make great emergency water bottles. I've bought a handful of iPad only games & apps on the pretense that we will someday buy an iPad "for our daughter." One time I bought a Famicom cartridge by mistake - does that count? I have several arcade PCBs that I can't conveniently play since I don't have a cabinet with a vertically mounted screen. And what about all the games I buy that I have absolutely no time to play?
There's just something about holding a classic in your hand regardless of if you can play it or not. I CANT STOP
Haha good one. Requesting permission to sig that? I'm kidding but still that's a good one. And for the OP: I'm too cheap to pay for games I can't or won't play. You guys are savages who do. Way to support the companies, keep it up.
The movies now do films for the blind, where a narrator describes the visuals and then shuts up for the dialogue.
I don't find this concept at all crazy. I have NEVER owned a 360, yet every time I'm in a game store I stand in front of the 360 games and contemplate buying one just to have it. Then I always think, "Maybe I should just randomly buy a couple, then I'll be motivated to just splurge and finally buy a 360." I mean at SOME point in my life I'm going to have to try out Gears of War, amirite? So why not just buy it now while it's still being sold and hope that the purchase hurries my inevitable purchase of a 360?
