M1st1ff Member May 12, 2012 14 0 0 #6 M1st1ff, Sep 24, 2015 Played for about 15 minutes. The game is a survival horror, zombies themed. It's based on retrieving resources that let you eat, drink, build things. You explore a fixed map where you can see interesting hotspots to find resources. Zombies cencounters lead you to battle, mostly automated and based on the weapon you use. IAPs are for main character abilities and for resources packages. I still don't understand if they are vital to win the game or if you can beat the game with resources you find playing. At first sight, the game has very good atmosphere, a nice music and is thrilling. Well worth the price for me (at the moment). Thanks in advance M1st1ff Member May 12, 2012 14 0 0 #10 M1st1ff, Sep 24, 2015 IAPs give you new abilities or new stuff to find and use (a dog, a backpack, military shoes and other stuff). I think you can play without them but they all seem very intriguing... The cost varies from 0.99 to 1.99 each, so it's not a cheap choice to buy them all. I only bpught the backpack at the moment. It will raise the weight of loot you can carry from 25 (kg?) to 60, but I still haven't found one in game (the IAP only unlocks the item, so it can be found in game). I still can't find a way to unlock that stuff by playing... If there's a way. L.Lawliet Well-Known Member Jun 28, 2011 6,405 420 83 #11 L.Lawliet, Sep 24, 2015 How does it compare to "Overlive"? That's probably the best zombie "RPG survival text" game I've played. M1st1ff Member May 12, 2012 14 0 0 #12 M1st1ff, Sep 25, 2015 The two games are similar in some ways but... Overlive is more a visual novel, with multiple choices, multiple events in each stage (some event is to be unlocked) and a minimal resource management. Buried Town is more like a board game, fights are automated, not tapping like in Overlive, and resources managing is more complex ( I think in a way similar to SF game Out There). In both games there has been a zombie catastrophe, you find a secure (you hope...) place where to live and rest, and there is a map where you can see hotspots that represent events happening while you advance in the game. M1st1ff Member May 12, 2012 14 0 0 #14 M1st1ff, Sep 25, 2015 Yes, it's correct for me Dragan Well-Known Member Aug 21, 2014 365 7 18 Belgium #15 Dragan, Sep 25, 2015 Thanks for the answers. For me the iap's are the reason not the buy the game. I don't mind to pay 5 times more then the actual price but this smells to much freemium. bbrock0 Member Dec 25, 2013 13 0 0 #16 bbrock0, Sep 25, 2015 Last edited: Sep 26, 2015 I like this game, it's pretty challenging though. Best attempts for me so far are building the fence ASAP and ignoring the "happy" stat completely (there don't seem to be any negative effects for this?) I've made it 19 days but haven't been able to get to the point where I can make my own medicine yet. Infection is usually what kills me. Really enjoying it though, IAP not required at all. predator8u Well-Known Member Apr 17, 2013 94 0 0 #17 predator8u, Sep 26, 2015 I agree with dragan, the iap that isn't obtainable though normal play kills it for me. Really wanted to get this. M1st1ff Member May 12, 2012 14 0 0 #18 M1st1ff, Sep 26, 2015 I agree with this but, strangely, vanilla game (with no iaps) is still worth the price. The game is funny, atmoheric and challenging, even without paid bonuses. The only bad side is the sensation of loosing playing variants, present as iaps. If you don't mind this, the game is well worth its price. Dragan Well-Known Member Aug 21, 2014 365 7 18 Belgium #19 Dragan, Sep 26, 2015 The price of 99 Eurocentric is not the issue. I just don't support freemium in any shape or form. For 5 and the possibility, challenge, to unlock the iap's i would have been sold. ludka33 Well-Known Member Jan 12, 2013 217 0 16 #20 ludka33, Sep 26, 2015 This. The game looks so good, and I'll probably give it a go for a buck, but the fact that gameplay items are utterly locked out due to iap leaves an awful taste in my mouth. Really would've liked the dog, too. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
