Probably a bit of inspiration too, I'd wager. The scenery artwork looks like French illustrations. Belleville Rendez-vous and all that stuff.
And just when you think, you've seen everything, a game like Bumby Road comes around the corner. So, so, so lovely. Everything just done right and I always love, when there is a lot of heart in a game. And here, you really hear it beating. Thanks!
Y'all beat out Infinity Blade and Chaos Rings Omega for the top spot. Props. Definitely hoping for your success with sales. It's sure to come. Already in the top 50. Expecting top 10 tomorrow :]. Truly a great game and best in it's genre by far, especially in production value. Props again, and congrats.
Released on the same week as Storm in a Teacup, Infinity Blade: Arena, Chaos Rings Omega, and you still got game of the week! It was well-deserved, although I'm still pretty bewildered! All it'll take is a week of recognition and the satisfied players can do the rest of the advertising Pretty sure this is gonna hit the top of the charts real soon! EDIT: backtothis pretty much beat me to everything I wanted to say
Congratz on getting Game of the Week! Well deserved! Oh, and you're currently #62 and rising in the charts!
This one absolutely blew me away. I can't believe someone didn't come up with this concept earlier. Totally refreshing game play with a boatload of style to go with it. Worth every penny.
controls r frustrating? actually there not... theyre quite easy to get a hand of.. heres some of others impressions on the games controls: "The controls are easy to learn and difficult to master.", "Controls take some getting used to, but once you get them, you get the game."
Really enjoying this game! I finally got under 1 minute in Sunday Trip (yay!) Graphics are beautiful and it has an addictive "one more time" quality to it. The controls do take some time to get used it. I'm still having trouble remembering that you can only jump if you click on/under the car. I fall into the water a lot doing that wrong. hah. I also have tendency to tilt the device like a complete idiot. I LOVE THIS GAME. Is the main thing.
Yeah, feels very unreal. Woke up today thinking it had all been a dream. Awesome reality is awesome. This makes me super happy and hopeful for the future of gaming and app store - In which titles like Bumpy, Casey's Contraption, Sworcery can make a big splash, even without big company names and/or IP's.
Nah, I have to agree that the controls aren't as easy to get the hang of in the first few playthroughs as you'd think they would be. This game definitely doesn't fall under the "easy to learn, difficult to master" trope of casual gaming because that specifically refers to "controls and basic gameplay are easy, the challenges the game throws at you are diffucult to master". Here, the stage layouts are actually pretty simple, but learning the controls to the point where you can navigate over an upcoming jump without thinking is actually going to take practice. This is not the Angry Birds or Cut The Rope of the platforming genre on iOS. Then again that's not necessarily not going to hurt Bumpy Road in terms of Appstore sales. Tiny Wings was like that as well, you don' really get the hang of it until you've played about 20 times to get the rhythm down. Once you get over that hump the game's presentation and charm take over.
graphics and gameplay always be the most tempting elements for me. every screenshot of this can even be captured as landscape painting, how i wish i could print the graphic on my clothes! my instabuy!
