Is this equivalent to the amount of downloads? ..since jailbreakers have gamecenter too, I'm curious to know how well this game is doing in the appstore
Nope it's not. Sales are actually fewer. On Kosmo Spin the situation was the other way around. I guess it shows that this game is more popular - even among the pirates
hey, how many of the times on the Sunday Trip are hacked?, i know the obvious ones but what about the 43? (i don't mean to offend you if you did get the 43 and you didn't hack)
Hard to say - 43 should technically be possible, but I'm guessing it's hacked (.75 seems like such a perfect number). But it's safe to say that anything under that is hacked.
that's sad to hear dude. Is developing games making you enough profit for both of you to do this as a fulltime job? - or do you have other jobs next to simogo?
Simogo is our fulltime job But there are probably far better jobs to go for than game developing if you want to get rich
I thought this might interest you, boys & girls! We've made some nice Bumpy Road wallpapers. Head over to http://www.bumpyroadgame.com to download!
I find the start of the game actually more difficult than the mid-game as you need to speed up your car or jump at the last moment to make the first few jumps over the water. However with some more practice, the controls feel more natural and it gets a load easier to control the car and get above 5000 (although I still make some silly mistakes...)
Yes, you have a point here. Althogh the time to spot the holes are much longer, so you have a while to build up momentum. It's also important to learn early (that's why we have it in the tutorial). The actual asset content is done, and now Gordon finally found the time to get working on it, so it should be a matter of days until submit!
Ickon, thanks so much for the encouragement which is just what I need. I have certainly not given up and maybe this week I'll get a taste of the mid-game and the difference when you can work up some momentum. Turns out there are some games that I love even though I'm not very good at them, but I persist. Sword of Fargoal was one of those games and I've managed to beat it several times with enormous satisfaction. With Bumpy Road, right now, I am simply enjoying the journey.
Lovely to hear. We knew that this game would be somewhat of a gamble - Because it's a game that just by it's core mechanic demands that you take your time to learn it, and we do know that a lot of people will drop off early if they feel that they are not progressing. But again, we think that part of the appeal in this game is mastering it. And we've throughout our testes seen people being spellbound as they learn the physics and controls. I think people expect something super casual from the visuals, when in fact it is a very "gamey" game.
Yes, 'tis gamey and challenging in a good way. And it seems to me that it's the independent developers (Bumpy Road, Tiny Wings, the upcoming dream:scape, etc.) who are giving lots of attention to the total atmosphere of their games --- art, music, sound effects --- with charm and beauty being very much part of the experience so that players are "living" in the game, as one would live inside a good story or book. The big boy developers...not so much.
Aw thanks man. In other sad news the game is out of the top 200 in iphone all paid. But still going strong in ipad, which is kinda strange but cool
Maybe. Thing is, when we did those for Kosmo, basically noone downloaded the iOS wallpapers, only the PC/MAC ones.
