It's impossible to see 'the whole thing' given that it's an endless mode. Obviously a short, timed mode will seem more intense at first. Evergreen does start out a bit slow, granted.
Totally understand those points. One thing we wanted, was for Sunday Trip to be the "quick fix" mode - It's garantueed to take about one minute or so - And you always have one minute, right? Endless sessions tend to get long once you get really got at a game, and at the same time we don't want to punish the players too hard by making it difficult. So, that's also one reason for the Sunday Trip mode. I'm happy that the two modes turned out so different from eachother while still having the same basic mechanics.
Just had a great idea which would make a fantastic update. How about seasons mode where instead of day-night it goes through spring, summer, autumn and winter. I suppose it's probably out of the question as I can imagine it would take a huge amour of work to draw all the seasons but just thought id post my idea anyway.
We have toyed around with the idea of seasons. But it's not happening right now. And you're absolutely right that those backgrounds is by far the art assets that takes the longest time to make. On the other hand, they are super fun to do
Great idea, indeed. BTW, this game is a pure piece of art, in my opinion the most cult game in App Store
I have been thoroughly enjoying this game. It is true that the controls are difficult at first but very enjoyable as you start mastering them. On another note, i have just finished the memory lane and wanted to say that the story is very touching although a lot sadder than i would have expected... I'd love to learn more on the family history through future updates.
Ok so I have just been admitted out of hospital and all the time I was awake I was playing Bumpy Road. Thanks You Simogo for developing this amazing piece of art. This should be first in the app store.
Aw thanks. Well, such was not the fate for Bumpy (if nothing unexpetedly happens). We're super happy about the response, reviews (88 on metacritic!) and sales anyway - So it's weeeeell over expectations for us. Let's see how it fares in the long run... In other news we've started work on the update and it's going to be pretty sweet. We're not modifying anything that is in there, just adding more stuff! Again, thanks for all the support, people! Now back to building levels...
I was so pleasantly surprised by this game, I saw a trailer months ago on thegametrails YouTube channel and thought it looks cool, but didn't think I'd get it, then it came out and I thought...hmmm should I give it a go.. But I only had 7$ credit so I ended up buying storm and caseys contraptions instead..then a couple days later I bought some more credit and bought bumpy road and oh my god..it was better than storm and caseys put together ! At first I thought the price was a bit exxy as most apps have a launch price of 1.19' but after playing it, I could easily see why the premium price, because it's a premium game, this will be the new sliced bread of apple devices, like angry birds and doodle jump! I'm addicted, something about it just makes me smile every time,,I have it both on iPad 2 and iPhone , they're both amazing but iPad is my preferred gaming device, It's already extremely incredibly wonderful, BuT, multiplayer would make it sooo much better, also a new gameplay mode that you have to get to a certain distance to complete the level, I really prefer games with levels rather than endless as it starts to get receptive and I give up, levels would be awesome as and id happily pay extra to unlock a levels option.. The seasons idea sounds incredible... Hope to see alot more from bumpy road! It's great how it is, but these extra little things could make it that much greater and playable for longer..I give up after a couple evergreen modes after falling down the ditch.. Anyway, cheers for making such a great game, Deffs my current favorite, may even win game of the year, Truly excited to see what else comes from your awesome team, it'll no doubt be instabuys from me!
Wishing you the best recovery, triggywiggy. And happy that you've got such a nice game for diversion! Bumpy Road therapy, might be the next big thing, huh?
Yeh hospitals should give IPad to it's patients with Bumpy Road and other relaxing games in them. Thanks for the wishes.
Pretty soon as we're already working on it. Definately in June! We're still deciding on a few small things, whether they should come with this update or not. We've already decided (and started to work on) the big chunk of what the update is about.
Hmmm, we'd rather keep it as a surprise... But here's a hint: Fans of last day of the week will probably be very happy.
