I thought I would get bored of this eventually but...damn! The more I play it, the more fun it gets. This game is truly a masterpiece and is definitely my favorite endless/survival game on the iOS. If this pattern keeps up, I'm afraid it might top Dodonpachi as my favorite iPhone game of all time!
Man..I get really mad when I read those App Store reviews... "The game sucks because the screen scrolls by itself and you can't go faster!" If the player controlled the scrolling speed, there would be no challenge at all. They could keep going back to get gizmos/pictures and spend as much time as they wanted on jumps. When I see those comments I just want to hit someone!
I've got to admit, I wouldn't mind it as an optional "free roam" mode. Someone already suggested a zen mode where there's no fuel consumption or puddles, this could be something like that. Just travel as far as you can in your own time, at your own pace. Chillout Junction.
If you consider this game boring and want a "button-to-jump" endless game, buy Rogue Runner or something similar. This game is something new in the endless category of games. Of course, it doesn't suit all the audience, but this doesn't mean it's boring. It would be boring if it was a Cannabalt clone, but as I said, it's something new and the control scheme is worth trying, because it's one-of-a-kind in the app store.
Saying that it's boring is still better than asking for unreasonable changes because you don't influence others who are enjoying the game
I've seen this app has fallen from the top of the charts. It's a shame, because this game is brilliant and addictive, deserves to be at the top. I guess people would rather buy $.99 apps (8 from the Top10 in US are $.99 apps)
I agree with above. I'm not quite sure when it happened but apparently people now think that £1.79 is expensive for a video game. It seems that people don't judge a game for itself anymore they judge it on the basis of "well it would be better if it was 59p" I for one think that bumpy road is well worth the money I payed for it.
I would more than happily pay $4 Aussie bucks for tuis game which is it's price at the moment. But on Australia $4 dollars sounds much more in app store prices then $1.19 which translates to 99us. I think its more that it sounds touch much then it is not worth that proce. Though I think the game is worth about $10
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Find a game you like (if there is one) and troll that forum!
I'm sure I would enjoy that as well. The game mechanic is simple (not the same as easy) and the environment is so delightful that I think other modes could be adapted to allow the player to make his/her own trip and spend more time in this lovely place. Wonder what the devs are thinking about this and other suggestions.
Might as well go and ask what Robert Mugabe thinks of Bumpy Road while I'm on the subject of opinions I don't give a crap about
It's all interesting, but we really want something that feels gamey, so a free roam mode is not the first thing we'd look at. We made Sunday Trip for the reason to make a more "playful" mode actually. We wanted the same for Kosmo Spin, a mode in which there is no fail state. We actually started to work on the update yesterday, so it should come out a little earlier than planned I've actually just gotten under 45 that once, so it's really hard... Just try to pickup everything and stay as far to the right, even though it's risky.
I consider Evergreen Ride the playful mode to be honest, the game is so well-paced and relaxing the whole thing feels playful, but Sunday Trip is just over too soon and with the only objective being to improve your score I feel more pressured into performing well and not missing a single gizmo while on Evergreen Ride all I do is chill out
