Anyone else having probs with cardboard castle? It loads but I can't press the play icon, pressing trophies takes me to the level select and then whenever I tap play or anywhere in fact it either doesn't respond or just kicks me back to the main menu. I'm using iPad mini ios7

I don't blame him. It's the format. I instabought Dragons Crown on Vita when it dropped from $40 to 30, but I'll wait for even 5-star titles drop to .99 or free.

Wow. The rampant cheapness of this thread is amazing. Maybe more surprising is the fact that people aren't ashamed to whine about a dollar or be proud to wait to save one.

More on topic yesterday is a great game if you're a fan of point and click games. It's worth a lot more than the $2 sale price.

Nothing like being chastised for trying to save money in a subforum for price drops and freebies.

At first the jumps were finicky, then they listened to feedback and updated and it's great now. The dodges still need a bit of getting used to, but it works perfectly as it is.

Also, buttons can be positioned anywhere in the ingame options menu.

I hate this new trend of prancing around calling people cheap. There are games people rant about here that I do not pick up even on sale because they don't look like worth it to me, and that's ok. The whole reason people haunt the price drop threads and often a reason to prefer iOS gaming is because, admit it or not, we are all cheap. If someone doesn't agree on the value of a game, "cool beans."

I totally feel you man. Being a frugal individual is frowned upon here in the states, hence why most of my friends have no savings. What they don't want to admit is the appstores insistence on it's less than standardized pricing model and need to get you to buy your next purchase five minutes after the last app you bought is what causes people to hold off until sales. Anyone who complains that you're cheap because you're trying to be frugal with your money is either American or as azzhole. Trust me, people from where I'm from will sell their mother out if it means more money, which in turn equates to status here. Pathetic I know, but it's the truth.

I'd also like to point out that the game this thread came under, Hills of Glory HD, is no different than the free version of the game. Well, there is one difference, you're paying a dollar over the free version. OP probably should have mentioned this. So don't buy the HD version, it's pointless.

  13. It is sad that this price reduction forum in the past couple of months just seems rampant with mocking and hate. I see both sides to this picture, but I miss the good old days where we sat around and discussed games here but now, for some reason, even on a great sale like this, it's just cheapened by all this kind of dialog.

I don't quite understand why you say this is a US thing? Almost all of the people quoted before are all non-Americans.

Anyway, I see the issue from both sides, it does seem hard to get involved in this price reduction forum cause all of the battling recently, which is kind of a sad thing.

Poor Bulkypix, cause they really are coming on strong lately.

I agree with a lot of what you said. A bunch of games that go on sale for free aren't worth the price. iOS gaming is cheap, and that's one of the reasons I indulge in it.
I'm not the guy in the dead trigger thread bashing the game, I didn't like it in the way a lot of people did. I stayed away from the "discussion". You don't think a games worth $1 or $2 but haven't tried it, why post?
I'm actually offended that it seems to be the prevailing idea that it's ok to post how you'll wait to save another $1, however pointing out that, that is cheap, is not ok. Pointing out that the same people that bitch and moan about freemium are saying $2 for a game is too much, "that's just mean". It's not mean. It's true. These people are going to get what they deserve. Their favourite franchises will be cheapened, into f2p garbage, by their own cheap attitudes. I can't wait for f2p Castlevania. Have fun with that guys. This attitude is a joke. The championing of this attitude by people that I know don't share it is, arguably, worse.
Just to be clear, I'm not accusing UC of being cheap and most of this post isn't "aimed" at him. I respect your opinions on games and appreciate what you bring to the forum. Just throwing that out there.

I was just coming from my own life experience. I'm from the US and that's how I feel about things here. It was translatable into the current discussion. I should have clearified I was explaining from my own perspective. But the "you're cheap because you can't afford a dollar" argument seems rampant in my home town (Detroit) and the school I go to (University of Michigan), so the attitude just seems endemic to me of American culture. A place where morons are famous simply for being famous.

Also I fixed my post to properly convey that I'm speaking from my own life perspective. I should point out that I didn't quote "people" I quoted a person, so I'm not sure what your statement on all the people I quoted not being American even pertains to. None-the-less I hope you appreciate my editing of said post. Good day.

To anyone that might've experienced this:

Any idea though on how this plays on i5? I think I read somewhere that it doesnt have widescreen support yet.

The bad part is that it never got a widescreen update. To those with 4 inch screens at least.

Yikes, I agree that people shouldn't start calling people cheap and stuff, but I also do hate when people complain about a dollar they "lost". We've all been bitten by price drops, seemingly more frequent than ever. And I totally see where people are getting tired of games that drop in price within like a week of release. But we do need to take a step back and realize that iOS gaming is by far the cheapest platform for buying games.

That said, not everyone can buy every game because it adds up regardless. I'll readily admit that I take advantage of sales and freebies, because the vast majority are games I either wouldn't have bought or were on the fence about. That doesn't make me cheap. It just makes me realistic that I can't afford day one purchases of every game, even though I do buy the games I really know I want.

Anyway, lets try to keep the bickering to a minimum. Price drops are just a part of the App Store market. And as popular as TA is, we're still a tiny fragment of that market.

Well, bought it already. Will just wait for the update before I play it, I guess.

Played some Ark of Sinners Advance today... well worth the buck. Plays well on my 4S. I don't see how the controls would be that bad on a widescreen but when I get my 5S it'll be interesting to see if I join the crowd of complainers or just shrug and play on.

    ...

As for the convo going on about people liking or not liking deals on iOS games. Devs/Pubs set the prices. There's nothing wrong with paying launch price or "sale price" or getting a game free. If they didn't make the offers then no one would take advantage of them. Still, it's been very well established that every week games come out and typically within 2 weeks most of them have gone on "sale" and within a month most will have a sale. The lesson of sales should be one that's easy to pick up on. I buy what I want, watch what I'm mildly interested in and ignore the rest unless it's free. I'm more about buying quality games in genre that I want to play. I already have more games than I'll ever play.

I quoted "Sale" and "Sale Price" because sometimes games launch with the design of going free or they launch at a higher price than they know they are going to sell the game at. So certainly some of these "great deals" are staged. I don't think that's Bulkypix though. They have a lot of legit traditional games. I think they just have sales to drum up business during special events or when stuff isn't selling.
