I just hope someday we'll have an iOS device capable of running CAVE games at Retina Resolution. Mabbe the next iPhone?
i'm disappointed. The game looks to blurry on the ipad. Strange resolution. Bought this, because it was Universal. I expect a game, that fits to the ipad resolution. I pay good money, so i like to get a game that fits to the ipad. if thats not possible, they shouldn't not relase it as universal.
Really? I actually never knew that Espgaluda II was on the 360? I read about these Cave games all the time and wish I could give them a go, but can't on my 2G. I'll have to take a look at the 360 version of E II. Wonder if they'll do more ports. I've been out of the loop on my 360 as I just haven't been able to pluck down $60 on games lately. But I should pay more attention to XBLA. NM: Just searched it and I guess it's a Japanese import only and a full-price disc, not an XBLA game.
Haha yeah, I'll find myself focusing on dodging the bullets and killing the enemies at the top of the screen and totally forget about the ones on the side. Personally, I love the water dragon part! This is prolly my favorite Cave game since Espgaluda II. I've been addicted to playing it and ignoring all my other priorities/commitments.
It was working fine for me up until today but now it crashes. Ironically I did a reboot (because of many downloads / updates) before trying it today. It crashed twice right before entering into stage 1. Another time it crashed during the game - near the end of stage 2 or 3. Openfeint seems a bit flaky lately...?
Did you choose to use Openfeint or did you decline it when prompted? It seems to be running flawlessly, for the most part, for people who declined it. My game was crashing quite a bit, so I deleted it, reinstalled it, and declined openfeint. Works pretty much flawlessly now!
@GoofyJmaster:I'm often reluctant to enable openfeint right away because I've seen problems with it in the past and GC is just fine anyway, but I went and enabled it the first time I ran Bug Princess a couple of days ago. I wish I could turn it off! But thanks, I will take your advice and DRD.
Yeah, it should work like a charm after you do that! I usually enable Openfeint because GC sometimes has syncing problems for achievements, but all is good for Bug Princess if you decline it. The only thing is you still get the non-working OF banner.
Loving this game right now. Not had any crashing issues on iphone 4 or ipad 2. Not quite as good a game for me as espgaluda 2 mechanically, but I really love the setting and enemy design. Heres to hoping cave continues with the ios ports. Would love to see futari or muchi muchi in the future, although I expect the next port to be akai katana.
I've been changing the screen size and actually have been using the smallest size on my ipad. On my iphone4 the graphics look sharper than esp2 and ddp. Love the centipede or whatever it is.
The water dragon thing? If that's what you're talking about then yeah it's super cool! TBH, the whole game is awesome. Nothing's really satisfied my bullet hell need since Espgaluda II...well, until this! I also don't have a problem with gfx on my iPod. Things are a little blurry, but everything looks super good for the most part.
Thanks GoofyJmaster, that seemed to work. Now, any advice about how to prise "one's" iPad out of one's wife's clutches for a decent length of time? (They call it "w.e.l.d.e.r." and they mean it!)
Insane even on novice is pretty damn hard. They really did a good job with the different levels of difficulty being noticeable not only in gameplay, but also scoring. One of my bigger pet peeves, especially in espgaluda II, was that playing on a higher difficulty was a negligible scoring advantage.
Well, I am number 14(92.5m and climbing) in total stage score and I will say that it is a huge advantage to just continually play the stages on hell. You learn the patterns, but the biggest things is that you get used to looking at your screen filled with so many bullets my iphone 4 lags and not to freak out and just spend your time dodging bullets. There are obvious things in the level that you should memorize and know when to be mainly on the left or right of the screen(mainly for big enemies that when you kill them get rid of the bullets and on hell the hail of bullets can trap you to the wrong side either forcing a bomb or getting hit). It just becomes so much easier when you downgrade the difficulty after playing hell score attack for an hour or so. I may do this for a bit and then beat original or maybe maniac at least all the way through on hard because never losing a life is a pretty big deal for score on all stage playthroughs. It is a little discouraging(and a good thing) though that, especially for maniac and ultra modes, that for most of the stages clearing them without dieing on normal probably won't live up to the score you can get just by getting to the miniboss of some stages on hell(stage 5 though it is best that you be able to complete the level). Also in case you haven't figured it out yet, all stages includes the score attack mode for all stages on original, maniac, and ultra combined. I was confused when I was in the top 100 for all the original stages and was like ranked 400 or something. A great game by cave. If anyone is on the fence about it, you shouldn't be, just buy it.
