three lasers and one MG got me the second best score on office hard. (Oxynidus has the top score). and that was without even getting my turrets to level 5, so there is room for improvement.

whenever my base and hero stashes are full or nearly full, especially when there is food to be collected, I upgrade my stash to make room.

Wow, I just noticed there are only two spiders in the top 50 Treestump (Me being #18 I think. That's gotta be remedied soon). o_O It's completely dominated by Ant.

what is your strategy in coliseum? round 18 with spider is pretty impressive...

I fully upgrade weapons and get Iron Hood ASAP and then get Night Hunter. With this combination, I'm able to kill the bugs as soon as they spawn before they overwhelm me. At night, taking on fleas and vampire bugs is much easier with the speed, armor and crit boost. I use the occasional Execute when I'm ambushed by a bunch of fleas before they take too much off my health (which I suppose could theoretically be substituted with Poison Cloud, but that's too slow for my liking, especially in emergencies). As soon as Queen Ants and Giant Spiders spawn, I use Assassin Bomb, and in case of two Queen Ants, I'd also use Assassin Cut to take out the second one. Superior Assassin + Night Hunter leads to a crit frenzy at night, which is great for taking out large targets. Add Spider Web to the mix, and you're all set.

Scorpions are Spider's worst nightmare. I start off by throwing a web, and either wait for a stun, use Superior Assassin, or Ninja Smoke and get behind them, and circle them and hitting them until they die. Giant Scorpions are insanely difficult. I just use the same tactics I just mentioned, in addition to an Assassin Bomb. Sometimes I just run away from it and focus on killing the other bugs before they pile up. Ant can take Scorpions out with relative ease, which I suspect is the main reason Ant is so popular in Coliseum.

    A few cool tricks:
*Superior Assassin & Ninja Smoke make it tremendously easier to use Assassin Bomb against moving targets (Spider Web works too, but you might get unlucky, and get a stun out of it at the wrong time).

*You can use Execute to send Queens and Giant Spiders flying into certain directions, and under some circumstances, you can put them next to each other when there's more than one, and use one Assassin Bomb to take the two of them out.

Spider actually has a TINY bit more ranged then a Scorpion does, so if you are very careful you can hit and run without getting hit yourself... of course this is very tough...

And you might not believe me here, but Self Defense is an amazing ability against Scorpions... it will constantly disorient them, allowing you to get free hits on their back all day long. Scorpions don't have a lot of windup, so its also important to "burn" the initial delay on your attacks before you are actually near the scorpion.

Also... Spider pistols destroy lesser scorpions in about 4 volleys :p

Does that apply to Giant Scorpions too?

I dare not try to mess with the scorpions face-to-face with Spider. Even with Beetle's longer range, it's very risky.

Yeah, I've noticed that. Pretty cool.

Interesting.. Though isn't it extremely dangerous, with reduced speed and increased damage intake.

I actually like the challenge Scorpions offer. They're very difficult, but not unfairly so (except Giant Scorpions in coliseum against Spider and Beetle; they always take away half my HP at least before they're taken down).

Does MG stand for magnifying glass or machine gun?

Also, how does one get the upgrade for magnifying glass?

iThink its machine guns cos I have seen magnify glass mentioned as magni turrets in the thread, also if it were magnifying glass, how'd one protect the stash @ night!?

Anyways, I guess the magni glass can be upgraded the same way other turrets are...

Most people refer to Machine Guns by MG.

I'm not sure what you mean with your second question. Magnifying Glass is unlocked after reaching round 11 (or 10?) in Yard, and you can upgrade it like you do with any other turret, except that it's tremendously expensive.

Magnifier is one of my favorite turrets, but it's absolutely insane cost- 3500 to get it decently powerful- puts me off from buying it most games. I could get a fully upgraded MG at that price. I've found that night isn't that bad, and you can just use most of your abilities- but the price is too much.

Since we're getting closer to submission, here's the fourth hero!

The Fly Bandit: hardly a hero at all, solely fighting for a chance to get his hands on more money and loot. This "hero" is an unpredictable, compulsive gambler, focusing on a lot of luck, chance, and both the spending and earning of money. Many of his abilities cost money to use per use, but he also has many ways to earn extra cash (one such ability is the Barter ability, which can trade in any food your heroes are holding for money). The flip side to the abilities that cost money is that their cooldowns are a great deal shorter then most other heroes' abilities, meaning he can be extra powerful if you have the money to spend, or extra weak if you are broke.

Fly's standard weapon is 4 quick firing, short ranged pistols, shooting in a medium sized spread. He is very feeble, but also very fast. A nice little bonus is that because he can fly, he cannot be affected by slug slime.

Enjoy ;) Two more heroes to go!

  14. FOUR guns? Looking forward to the new update.

 Damn Fly Bandit looks SWEET, and a good addition to the team with his ability to not take any ground damage. I wonder how it'll play out in Coliseum with cash based skills. In due time I guess to see its guns a blazin! :p

Fly seems like a very cool character. But the best two are last!

Also, if you need any help testing the new characters... There's a lot of beta testers and new people who would love to help.
