The encryption is strong, but people have high scores they hacked before the update, that they're now turning in. And there are other ways to hack without breaking the encryption, though I obviously can't tell you
We actually think its a work-around "exploit" that the person is doing to get those scores. We've tightened up the encryption and put in a few extra checks to make sure (hopefully) it doesn't happen again in the next update. Those scores will be deleted as well.
First of all wanted to share some cool news that we're pretty excited about at least Bug Heroes is THE #1 top rated iOS game of 2011 so far, based on the average of all major game website ratings (according to metacritic.com). We are also the #13 ranked iOS game of all time!! Check it out! http://bit.ly/gb2nMk Anyway, also popping by to give a screenshot of the 3rd new hero, which is already known by most by now But here is more info anyway... The Termite Builder! As mentioned before, Termite has a variety of turrets and other gadgets which he can use to build formidable defenses with. For those who prefer more of a "Tower Defense" style, or just want to sit back and watch their defenses destroy the enemies, Termite is the perfect choice His primary weapon is actually interesting as well. Though relatively weak, it does have the potential to do quite a bit of damage very quickly if you are able to "pin" enemies against a wall. It also can pierce through enemy armor. On related news, the update is going well, and we're still on track for an end of the month submission.
Congrats, Bug Heroes is a really nice game after all. The new hero looks pretty good, hopefully he is useful.
About Termite's turrets, I hope they're not like Ant's, where you have to tediously rebuild them every minute.
BIG congrats and well deserved. It's without a doubt my favorite iOS game of 2011 and it's only going to get better. Can't wait for beginning of April to be blessed with all the new content. By the looks of the pic, is Termites weapon melee? Looks like a drill/jackhammer type weapon and with you saying it can do a good deal of damage when pinning and enemy it sounds like it as well... Random question...Will the light on it's helmet give off an extra lighting effect during the night cycle?
Ants turrets last for 2 minutes, so thats a bit of an exaggeration But Termites turrets last for a good bit longer, and he has a passive level up skill which further increases their lifespan.
2 minutes? I guess time passes by too fast while playing this game. Edit: Oh right. They last for 2 minutes, but have a cooldown of 1 minute, which means you'd have to build them every minute to keep 2 of them up at all times, so I wasn't entirely wrong.
So, this termite builder is free with the next update and the ladybird(?) we saw earlier is from IAP, right?
That is Effing awesome! You guys have not only patiently waited for success, but also worked hard & right, took the right steps @ the right time, also helpd a lot other developers with their sale questions & *phew* what not! iDon't think any heroes are for free iHope the new support turrets are.... we need more real estate for turrets btw, you have not said anything about that yet
New heroes are IAP. Also, there will probably be five turrets, four of which will be part of IAP deals, and one which will be free. Finally, there is space on the base for another turret, but not on the base select screen. It's BS, but it's their official line.
As far as turrets go, we had to draw the line somewhere... we chose 4. If we chose 5, I'm pretty sure people would be wanting 6 Also part of the reason there is 4 turrets is because we just wanted an element of castle defense. Right now 4 turrets makes it so you HAVE to use your heroes to survive; its a nice mix of base vs hero combat -- adding 5 turrets would no doubt slightly reduce the importance of your heroes. Ultimately we felt like 4 turrets gives you options, but also keeps you limited at the same time. As for exactly what the update will include (whats free, what is in the IAP, etc), we'll release specific details along with the change log once we submit.
Wouldn't it be great to have maps with different numbers of turrets? It's probably a lot of trouble as far as UI design goes, but as a concept, it sounds pretty cool (though the game hardly needs to be any cooler at this point to keep the fans excited, but eventually people are gonna want new tricks).
Yes that could be an interesting idea for some large levels where you can setup turrets in different areas strategically away from the base
I have a few questions for Foursaken Media, or anybody else that can answer them: what is the use of spider's pistols? I can't think of a situation I would want to use them in. will any of the new heros have powerful main weapons like beetle, spider and ant? and does ant get experience points from porta turrets?
Pistols gives Spider more versatility. They're not a weapon that you necessarily just want to sit there with them equipped, but will get the best use out of them by constant switching between them and swords. For example you can essentially do 2x the damage in many situations, like when dodging backwards away from a Bumble Bee or Armor Ant, switch to pistols and blow the away, then switch back to swords to slice them. We're open to suggestions -- though keep in mind we do not want to make it so Spider becomes a jack of all trades mix of Ant and Spider... any ideas that will keep spider balanced and make him retain his role are welcome.
ohh, I get it now. they are intended for rapid switching... I'll have to try them again. and what about the other questions?
What do you mean powerful main weapons? And Ant doesn't directly earn xp from Porta Turrets... any kill gives xp only to the active hero, whether its from base turrets, porta turrets, or abilities that kill the enemies.
