Chiming in Hey guys... Haven't posted in a while so i thought i would chime in and just say thanks for the awesome updates. I have updated my review on itunes. Everyone please update your reviews, It will really help Foresaken out with sales i think... Anyways just my two cents Forsaken_Media. While i was updating my review i was looking at the screen shots for the game and i just don't think they do it justice. It just feels a little cheap or something. I can't put my finger on it. It might be the bug portraits on the screen i'm not sure. I just feel that if i was thinking it i'm sure potential buyers are thinking it. just my opinion... Keep up the awesome work and i can't wait for the IAPs. I'll be first on the list to hand over the dough...
Thanks for the feedback, though I think the more personality and character we can convey in the screenshots, the better... its pretty common practice to have character portraits. What would you rather see?
Spider shouldn't go back to back. That's my biggest complaint. And that the screenshots you chose don't show the action of Bug Heroes at all. The second and fifth screenshots also just suck. Finally, I think Repel is crazy underpriced. It's basicly the equivalent of maxed stun plus it's active ability. Comparatively, upgrading Beetle's armor by buying Warior Gauntlet and Shield costs ~1300. Basically, the active part of Repel is worth $500 (comparable to Earthquake jump) and the passive part is worth another $500. I feel 1000 is a very fair price. Edit: Also, I'd love to see before and after pics of Bug Heroes in the appropriate thread.
For one, repel is nowhere near the power of regular stun... having it be reactive instead of pro-active is a HUGE minus, and it only affects melee enemies. Also, the stun is only 4-5 seconds, and only to the enemies that hit you (again, cant affect siege or ranged units), whereas Earthquake Jump affects everything on the map for a full 12 seconds... they have different uses. In the end, repel is basically like equipping the static discharge skill that Ant has.
I believe there may be a fake at the top of the Hard's leader board. The score is a few thousand points over Oxynidus's score, but its only in the late teens or early twenties as opposed to Oxynidus's 69.While I know you encrypted the leader boards to prevent such a measure I still highly doubt that this is possible even if they were to complete all quests. On another note congratulations on such a wonderful game. I'm looking forward to the update, it seems like its going to be a truly fantastic addition.
Daang, nice work All of the Coliseum enthusiasts will be happy with the next update New Coliseum map including a completely new set of unique enemies. Adding power-ups to the Sink level also made that one MUCH more enjoyable. And, more equipment coming for the existing heroes as well At this point all the new heroes are complete and in the game, just need to balance them, create their equipment icons, and make sure everything is good with the IAP interface... shouldn't be very long now
Just wondering, how is Worm going to take any skill at all, especially on kitchen and some of the new levels? I mean, you'll just plunk your turrets in front of your base, at least on later rounds. And will Beetle ever get the axe as shown in the character introduction video?
What you're seeing is the enemy Ant's old weapons... we changed them to bolts (more appropriate) midway through development. As for Worm, he isn't the builder He's the weapons/explosives expert. But in regards to the Builder hero, his effectiveness is balanced lots of different ways. For one, his turrets cost money to build, so you can't just spam millions of turrets everywhere. Second, the Builder himself is rather weak in both offense and defense, and his turrets are only mediocre by themselves... but he has lots of passive abilities and skills that buff the turrets. So basically his turrets are only as effective as your Termite is. BUT powerful turrets will cost you the ability to be effective with any other hero. When you are other heroes, the turrets lose the Termite buffs and become more of support weapons then primary threats. Its actually a pretty neat give and take balance
Sounds good! Love to hear the Coliseum is getting more love. New equips are always welcomed as well. All sounds nice. So Termite's passive abilities are automatic; meaning you wont need to purchase the skills that are passive? Reason I ask is because it would seem pretty limited if you had to choose between 4 skills total(turrets+passive skills).
So it sounds like every turret is unlocked and free from the start, but it'll cost money for every use. On the other hand, abilities will need to be unlocked and cost money.
@Foursaken Media I was a huge player in the beginning...dropped off a bit in the last month but getting back into the game with a few hard mode runs in the past day or two! Feels great to be back...i always say I'm going to pause during the game to resume studying but end up playing entire 30 minute games everytime hahah I'm dying to know...whats the pricing going to be for the extra heroes? I was looking at the picture today of the exposed heroes and they look awesome (i love the one in the front with the assault rifle) But I don't want to be pay a dollar per hero, thatd be alot =-( is there going to be package deals like a dollar for 2 or 3 or anything like that? I do understand you have a big loyal fan base (like myself) that are willing to spend an extra few dollars on this game in the next couple months but I hope i dont have to pay $6 for the new heroes that im dying to play! Thanks in advance for taking time out to be so charitable with your advice and even your fun presence and opinions on the board!
The Builder hero has a mix of passive skills and active abilities to buff his turrets. It is balanced to an extent so that you have to choose whether you want fewer, more powerful turrets, or tons of turrets. Also his turrets last a while, so if you choose you can swap out turrets after they recharge with abilities in order to keep them buffed... @ K -- no, turrets still act as equippable abilities that cost money initially, but they are cheaper. Plus, he's not just all about turrets -- he has some neat other equipment like traps which lower enemy damage (esp good vs incoming siege), a food generator, and a shield generator which can destroy ranged projectiles and gives a defensive bonus to heroes inside of it. Oh, and his turrets will definitely require at least rudimentary strategic placement as well... most of his turret have a minimum range and specific uses, so just throwing everything near you base will not be very productive
Also I wanted to add that I saw your comment about the later levels in hard mode being too "spammy" and I wanted to say that I agree... later on in hard mode theres just a RIDICULOUS amount of enemies on the screen and i dont know the game's fun level decreases a bit because its so insane....like for example if i have a few quests near the back spawn on Office, if i SOMEHOW make it back there past lvl 15, its crazy because i cant even get past the giant enemies like cockroaches and snails and even if i kill four or five or stampede past them im just surrounded everywhere by enemies....and its just like how am i supposed to do any quests when theres just nowhere to move especially if i need to use the spider for assasinating the strong baddies... i would like less enemies more strategy as well as you do
We agree $1/hero would suck We thought about the value vs the original game, and while we do believe the original game is a bit underpriced, we wanted to keep the overall value similar between the IAP and the game itself. There will be 3 hero packs... you'll get 2 heroes and a completely new level, + a new turret, + 5-6 new enemies specific to that level for $1...
If you give me triple the content you just said for $3 then you can COUNT ME IN! that sounds great!! 6 heroes, 3 levels, 3 towers, 15ish enemies for $3?!? that sounds awesome! and the more enemy types the better...the less encounters i have with the stupid ants with the hammer and the tiny spider queens ants the BETTER, i hate those enemies LOL!
Termite sounds complex, but definitely fun(especially for Coliseum runs) and with a good deal of strategy. For the record...I'd pay whatever price you you decide on gladly. Is it too soon to comment/give us a teaser on Chuck Mantis?
