To further what was said in the post a bit above this, you cannot really pigeon hole this game. Broadly it's a survival game, broadly it's a dual stick fighter/shooter, broadly it's a castle defense game, broadly it's got a bit of action RPG, broadly it's a lot of things that you can't really describe. The important thing: it's pure awesome and even it cost $10, it would still be a no-brainer purchase. This is one of the games that caused me to completely revisit my thoughts about "real" gaming on iOS. I've been playing it daily since I bought it and every game plays out differently because of choices I make, random quests that pop, and my own dumb luck
Now that is awesome, thanks Here is another little teaser for one of the new heroes. This guy will really be able to let you play defensively if thats how you choose -- he'll also "open up" a few extra spaces on your food stash to build different types of turrets, as you'll be able to dish out some major firepower with his own turrets. And even though in these screens I clustered them all around the base, you can put them anywhere ala porta turrets. Note: the hero is blacked out on purpose
Sweet screens! Can I guess and say either possibly a member of the Black Ant Clan(workers and fighters per scroll description) or the legendary gunfighter Billy the Fly Damn you and these teasers!!!
What strategy do you guys use at the beginning of the game? -scavenge food -upgrade towers -save money ? I need some help, so I can survive longer.
Get as much food as I can and spend almost all my money on turrets. I try to keep about 800 around at all times so that if a situation arises, and can buy an ability to respond to it.
Just experienced my first crash: it was on the office level, not sure which wave, but I was using the big hero (the slow one) and had a couple of those scissors bugs on me. At first I thought a call was coming thru, but no, it just sent me right to the main iPhone screen.
Initially I like to get all 4 towers up while scavenging for food, then buying skills in between but I tend to get my towers upgraded to level 2 1st. I think its good to save money if/when you can (i.e. if a Queen ant spawns I will buy assassin bomb at that time because I know it will 1 hit K.O. her or if I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, I know I can buy either teleport or ninja smoke to get out of a bad situation etc), switch between characters often exploiting enemies weakness(and it saves HP) with your weapons, and then get skills depending on the situation. A good skill to buy early imo is better base guns. It'll save you often when your away from your base and it will allow you to not have to upgrade your towers fully for a while while you gather/upgrade. From there, get what skills your comfortable with because everyone plays different and try to upgrade your towers in-between when possible. My towers are always fully upgraded before I purchase my final weapons for each character. It's going to be a constant learning process and every game will be different but this for me is a good start.
Some upgrades do carry over in a sense... as you progress you unlock equipment and skills (and levels), then they are available in future games (no need to unlock them again).
Thanks for the advice godson! Also, are all the upgrades temporary, or do they last till you die...? Sorry, this is probably a really lame question. lol
The permantent turrets. Porta turrets are pretty much a joke for real defense. Better Base Guns can be used over and over again till you die. But everything clears at death except for visual armor ("You've unlocked a new piece of armor for ___").
np Permanent things you'll keep as you unlock and progress throughout your gameplay: Adventure stages, equipment, skills for characters, turret types. Now keep in mind that every 'new game' you play, you start all over but you will keep everything you've unlocked. Equips are permanent regardless.
Well, each map has a different turret setup. In kitchen, I used 3 machine guns and 1 magnifier. The equipment varies from game to game, but generally I use these abilities the most: Superior Assassin, Assassin Bomb, Ninja Smoke, Snare Web, Executioner, Stampede, Colossus, Adrenaline, Shockwave, Shield, Warrior Gauntlet, Squash 'Em, Earthquake Jump, Life Support, Ant Hole, Teleporter, Entrench, Howitzer, Better Base Defenses.
Last hour to pick up Bug Heroes at $0.99! Thanks to everyone who did pick it up during the sale so far... we cracked the top 100 in about 15 countries and saw some great success overall Thanks again!
You are welcome, Shouldn't We be thanking you for the sale? Me pickd a Copy! *nods head vigorously, Also Froths*
Oh thank God! I just bought it like 5 minutes ago! Syncing now! Looks like a cockroach to me. Fits the defender type hero as well.
ZOMFG, I only have 10 minutes to download Bug Heroes?! Yes, I've never actually played the game or the beta. Everything I've said about Bug Heroes has been correct by blind luck. It is definatley not. We have cockroaches as enemies, though.
The name of the bug was already revealed by @FoursakenMedia on Twitter. Not a roach. Won't repost in case some think it's a spoiler. Follow them on Twitter instead.
