I like the idea of quests that give food as a reward. It would definitely get me to cut back on being such a base-hugging coward in the higher levels.
@WC -- we made a couple of slight changes in 1.1.1; not sure if it'll fix any of your issues, but lets hope. We are still working on more stability fixes for the next update. As for the stuttering... the problem is we are unable to reproduce it on any of our devices, spanning from an iphone 3g to the ipad. Not saying it doesn't exist of course, just that its going to take some more investigating... what OS version are you using? You did start a new profile since 1.1 right? ----------------------- Hmmm, having food as a reward for some quests is an interesting idea. Not sure if it'll happen, but it is something to consider none the less Although, there are a few things for some of the new heroes + some of the new turrets will help you out in that department. One hero has an ability that increases the rate that enemies drop food. Another has a deployable "food cultivator" which will generate food automatically over time. And there will also be a new "turret" (not really a turret ) which will give your base a passive food regen. We've also buffed forcefield turret, so a lvl 5 FF will now knock back attacking enemies 100% of the time (and grant a ~60% damage reduction ).
Glad I picked this up! Pretty freakin' fun! Now I see what all the glowing reviews were about. Hope you guys shoot up the charts! Just wondering, is there a level cap or some sort of ceiling as far as waves or high scores (not that I'd ever get that good). It's for the completionist in me as I'm used to trying to fully complete a game rather than trying to get a high score. Either way, I can see myself playing this for a good while. Well done!
Been thinking over and over (saw all the good reviews and video reviews praising the game) about buying this game (last night saw some videos, and altho the graphics aren't that appealing, the spider ninja looks cool). In which game category is Bug Heroes in? Tried looking it's ranking on Top 200 Paid Apps (US Global) and Top 200 Games Paid Software and it doesn't show up. And AppShopper only says that it's within Games.
IMO Bug Heroes is more a dual stick shooter but there is a RPG style level up and upgrade system and the objective is to defend your food stash (which fortifying and adding food) so it's got some capture the flag "tower defense" aspects. Edit: This is psychotic... the game is on sale and excellent; quit shortchanging yourself and take the plunge. For the amoung of research it sounds like you've already done you put in more than $0.99 of your time.
I notice stampede often fails because beetle is sticking to a wall. Nothing is really blocking his way, but for some reason he doesn't move while using it; just stands in his place waving his stick like a maniac.
Currently we're sitting JUST outside the top 200 overall games Were in the top 100 action and top 50 adventure. Are you not a fan of the graphical style, or the graphics themselves? Mostly we've heard that the graphics are actually a high point, especially on the iPad or retina display. As for category, its a blend of many... strategy, action, adventure, a dash of RPG... its listed in action and adventure categories though. The sale is over midnight tonight, so if you're no the fence, you've only got a few more hours to snag it up at $.99! We thought about this in the conceptualization phase, but ultimately decided we wanted coliseum to be as stripped down as possible to give a good contrast from the adventure mode. We wanted to implement some sort of reward system for playing coliseum as well, but ultimately the time just wasn't there. Each hero maxes out at level 20. While it generally is an "endless" game where you are playing to beat your own (or others) high scores, check out the achievements for a good start to "complete" the game. Wait, he's stopping and sticking to a wall, so the wall is blocking his way isn't it? Or is he just staying in one place in the middle of nowhere? Is there a specific spot this happens so we can reproduce it?
No, the wall is behind or beside him, and instead of charging forward, he just stampedes in his place. I'm gonna see if I can reproduce it. I'll get back to you. It happened more than once. I have a thought. How about having Hero-specific Coliseum levels? Different levels can be more suitable for some heroes than others. Sink for example is least suitable for Beetle.
I'll give the game a shot. As for the graphics, not really a 3D Graphics lover, but I'll get to see more.
bought it on a whim. bug heroes and battleheart for $2 after a particularly rough week at work. can't argue with that. thanks for the sale
I must say, i really hate the tower defence games but Bug Heroes have caught my attention from the first minute. Is fun, deep, easy to learn and got an awesome presentation. Crisp graphic and funny sound are in, so what can i say... i feel bad for have payed just 0.79€ for this pearl, will buy next Foursaken media game on day one.
The survival guide may help you out as far setting up and understanding a little bit of everything else: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=79560 Understanding enemies(insectopedia) as well as practicing in the Coliseum often to figure out what skill-sets work best for you are also a big way to hone your skills/reaction times when you get back to adventure.
- Adventure Mode: See above. You start fresh with every game but you can save at any time(which I for one absolutely LOVE). - Coliseum Mode: Endless survival with one hero and no Towers. Just money, food, and skills.
