Its actually interesting bc we have thousands of unique scores posted to our own leader boards... maybe there are just less gamecenter users then people think?
Has anyone had good/great success using the forcefield turrents? I've used them a few times but didn't feel they were very effective. Or do I have to upgrade them to max. Power in order for them to be useful?
As with all turrets, they start off fairly weak. I think this also why people underestimate firecracker turrets so much... They get a lvl 1 FC turret, it doesn't blow away the whole map, and then they think its worthless.... in reality it has the potential to do the most turret damage (albeit spread across many enemies) in the game, by far. Its a "softener" turret, not something meant to directly kill whole hordes in single shots (though it can even do that once upgraded a bit) Anyway, onto ForceField turrets... Their primary function is of course to knock away melee attackers trying to eat your food... a successful repel will also block 50% of the attackers damage. On top of this there is a small passive damage reduction. The exact numbers are a 20% chance to repel on level 1, +10% chance each upgrade.... this means by lvl 5 it'll have a 70% chance to knock back and reduce damage by 50%... this is pretty substantial And they do stack... so if you REALLY want to play defense and let your heroes do most of the killing, 2 FF turrets upgraded to max will really make your food stash a fortress...
I wouldn't upgrade any heroe weapons until you have maxed out your turrets. I try to put as much money into my turrets as possible, only buying abilities if I need them.
Thats actually good advice... I also tend to buy abilities only as I come across situations where I need them. Of course that is just one way to play though Another one of us Foursaken Media bros goes "hero centric" where he will upgrade his heroes massively for the first 10 rounds or so, only getting one level 4 MG turret... this ensures that he can safely go out and explore for food and complete tons of quests early on. It really just boils down to preference though... the main thing is that whatever you choose to do, you have an overall plan and strategy... for ex if you are going to beef up your heroes first, make sure you understand you HAVE to come back and defend your base frequently since your turrets won't be strong. If you go for strong turrets early, you will probably have to turn down some of the harder quests if they are offered.
We already commented on the locked equipment Its an irreversible "bug" in 1.1 that you can't get your equipment back... it was an unfortunate, unforeseen side effect of the new encryption. The problem actually lies deeper then that though, which is why many people were reporting performance issues and new crashes... the reality is that data updated into 1.1 is completely corrupt, and your game could start crashing or having performance issues at any time... this is why we are just requiring a completely new profile. At the very least I'm sure most vets can get all of their equipment/turrets/levels back in about 2 hours or so... It sucks I know, but 1.1.1 is an "apology" of sorts with a few new pieces of equipment to ease the pain. As for the new buttons, we've already got a few compliments on the change... they were changed mostly for better function... you no longer have to take a needle out and have pin point accuracy to upgrade the correct skill
You can thank Foursaken Media for etching them into the scrolls and in my head! It makes me want all those characters to come to life sooner than later, but I'm being patient. Two more scrolls to go to complete the achievement. I must say though, I love the way they implemented the scrolls and the story overall. The whole Legend factor makes me go over them often and and envision them all as active characters(*fingers crossed they will be*) because they all sound perfect, even with the little tibits of info on them. I just want to say its VERY well executed; it leaves me wanting more(as it should) if you hadn't noticed.
Possible bug: First thing i did in Normal Kitchen was trash my default MG turret. i tried to buy a different turret, but the window wouldn't swipe to other turrets. Restarted my iphone, continued that game, MG turret was back, and i think i still had the sell money. Sold MG again, got more money, and was able to buy a different turret this time.
