Yeah, one of my mates has the game and one time he had (minor) trouble hitting things. Doesn't matter though, downloading now
After extensive testing, The only bugs I've encountered are that the insectopedia is wiped and all of my abilities say ">100% unlocked". I couldnt care less about the insectopedia but there must be a way to re-unlock those abilities. I have experienced most of the other bugs but after playing for a bit they no longer appear. Also, can devs delete scores from GameCenter?
I notice that you made butterflies impervious to spider's attacks. How come? (Not that I'm objecting. I'm just wondering.) And I notice that the blindspot in the playroom where maggots are invisible to turrets still exists. I took a screenshot to show you where it is. Is there anything you can do about taps registering as swipes on the iPad? I've had some really unnecessary deaths happen because of it. And I must say, Fire Cracker turrets don't succeed at eliminating large groups of smaller bugs. In fact, I still barely notice its effect. I'm not sure why exactly. Perhaps because of its inaccuracy. I've tested it on the ideal map: Playroom, where you get overwhelmed by large clusters of smaller bugs. They just won't die. I'm still experimenting in different maps, but the one for Yard is the same old 4 MG turrets, simply because you need the rapid fire to handle bugs swarming from every direction. I reached 41 in Kitchen with 2 machine guns, 1 magnifier and 1 zapper, and I sold one machine gun towards the end of the game and build a forcefield turret because of the grub launchers and butterflies.
I'm still having problems with freezing but only on the pond map. 2 questions : how accurate is the plasma cannon? It seems more miss than hit when using it at point blank range & how effective is the forcefield turrent?
I can hope some insults for me but I'm saying what I'm thinking. Buying NY Zombies for the first day in Europe at 1,99$ and then price decreased... game was once free so for Bug Heroes I'm waiting a little... Not for free but I'm sure price will fall to 0,99$ sooner so..... It's not to be provocant, it's only my point of view and I never say I'm true !
Devs, love your game and have no qualms with it. …But it is BEGGING for coop! Please add it. Pwetty please!
Who knows, maybe it will go on sale for .99 someday. It's such a fun game... personally I wouldn't sit around waiting, hoping, missing out just to save a measly $1.
Game Impressions To the people here who have kept this thread near the top for so long, my thanks. I finally picked it up after seeing the longevity of the thread and have found one hell of an app store gem. As an entomologist I may be a bit biased, but I love how the bizarre mashup of genres works so well and the theme suits it all perfectly. I am unbelievably terribad at the game so far (getting my butt handed to me even on Easy by about round 15, but the fact that I can be so bad and still be having so much fun speaks volumes).
In the latest version, both Caterpillars and Grub launchers have both gotten major nerfs actually... Caterpillars now take twice as long to cocoon into butterflies, giving you much more of a chance to find them and kill them. And grub launcher reload time was doubled to about 15 seconds, again, giving you more time to find and kill them. If there range was shortened at all they'd just get owned by base turrets. Only on pond? That is actually helpful. Plasma cannon is 100% accurate, but it will explode on any obstacle or enemy in its path, which is why you actually want to target the ground more then actually ON enemies. Well, you're right... sales are basically a fact of life for the app store and we'll probably go on sale at some point -- when? I have no idea at the moment. Heck, you can count on your fingers the number of games which don't ever go on sale. The same goes with ANY game on the app store just about (heck... this holds true for almost any game on any system!): do you want to pay more to get the game sooner? Or wait and probably pay less? Whether its an EA game or Gameloft game, it still holds true. Thanks for the impressions!
A shotgun is coming for one of the heroes.... we are looking to get the IAP hero update out by the end of march.
Interesting... What are your thoughts on the bugs in the game? I could imagine an entomologist screaming at the game "slugs don't actually move like that!! ARGH!!" Also, I'll post my strategy guide for Pond in a few hours. Last, firecracker turrets are still too weak. They may do heavy damage to a few bugs, but my sniper will hit them much faster and more accurately. I can't see anyone seriously using firecracker turrets as a component of any good defense.
Thats cool i read in the game on the pond level about the heros would it be a spoiler if i told everyone about them? Also how do you unlock the plasma cannon?
I doubt there is a single Bug Heroes fan who does not want multiplayer (both co-op and duelling. I even posted some suggestions allowing for DotA/Bloodline Champions-style multiplayer matches). As I've understood it, there is indeed a chance for something along these lines... in the far, far future. It is, presumably, a massive project, and better suited for a sequel or a huge IAP expansion than a patch. Go ahead and wait, and you probably will get it cheaper. However, if you grow tired of waiting, I can tell you that you will get your money's worth regardless if it sells for one, two, five or seven dollars.
I don't want multiplayer. I'd rather the developer put all of their limited resources into adding more and more to the single-player experience.
I realized that after a couple of games, so I tried to edit it before you read it. Anyway, the post now consists of different notes and questions. Revised post: I lost my score on Office (Hard) to a crash. I must say that while the game took a long time, every round was quite intense, and I had to earn my victory. I suppose the same solution to Yard's would do a good job of making it harder without making it impossible.
Now thats sweet news! End of March is just around the corner and I'm sure it'll be well worth the wait. I'm with you on this 100%. More heroes, enemies, levels(Coliseum & Adventure modes), equips, skills, and an updated Insectopedia that has ALL information about the heroes(lineage, skills, equips, etc). Don't get me wrong, Multiplayer would be nice sometime way down the road, but I prefer the current awesome single player experience to be added on to with whats hinted (Bruce Flea, Ladybug Swordsman, Worm Bomber, Grasshopper Monk, Mantis, Possible Hornet/Wasp, and all other possible content) and confirmed.
