Lol, welll this should be fun! Ok, so I deleted my old Bug Heroes, then reinstalled it and then finally restarted my iPod!
Cool, can't wait. I assume we already got a bit of it in the pond intro.(?) The bit about the earthworm explosive specialist etc.. I have my wallet ready for any IAP expansion you guys do.
Yeah its definitely useful and one of my favorites too... plus I like how he just looks like a giant nerd with them on haha
well, i deleted the app on my iPhone 4, reinstalled it, restarted phone, and the stutters/freezing have pretty much disappeared. There was still a 1 second freeze when the first 2 enemy ants shot their 1st bullets in the tutorial phase.
Thats good Yeah, the 1st stutter is actually an OpenGL 1.1 problem on the upper gen devices. It'll happen pretty sparingly as lights are first initialized (ie usually only in the very beginning of the game).
creating a new profile and restarting my iPod didn't help the freezing. however... I deleted Bug Heroes, reinstalled it, restarted my iPod and... the freezing is gone! yay! I would say I lose sound more often then on 1.0.1, but otherwise things are back to normal. after I reinstalled (and so had a new profile), I have played a game on kitchen hard to round 27 (crashed when I tried to post the score, but not a real good game anyway), and then a game on office hard to round 18 (score posted fine). so some more impressions on the update: I love the bigger rewards for quests. now I take more of them, and it makes the game even more fun. the new food 'rules' have made it more difficult (of course). but it also makes it more fun, because you have to go run around and find food, instead of just sitting back at your stash. but I think the most important part of the new food rules is that it makes the game get increasingly harder, instead of kinda levelling off after round 30 or so. which I think is how it was intended to be, and is better...
Awesome! This is exactly the kind of feedback we're looking for, thanks I think the new food rules will take some getting used to and "re-strategizing" in order to do well, but I definitely feel its for the better...
The game wouldn't even try to connect to the high score servers. [Couldn't connect to the server!] Any ideas? The older version worked fine. Btw, I was just instantly killed by a Giant Slug with 3/4 of my HP. Is it supposed to do 250+ damage in one hit?? And my left control stick kept getting stuck on my iPad, and had to restart the game. I just finished a Giant Slayer quest within 3 seconds by accident. lol.
finally! I finally made it to round 20 ( office map normal mode) yes i know to many/some of you that will get a big laugh & that's all? but for me it was huge never made higher than level 17 on any map before. but the huge differnce was my points score, i more than doubled my preivious score. i ended up with a final score of 41,125 it really makes a difference when you do the quests.
I am really enjoying the tweaks in the new update and also the new pond level. I'd love to hear some strategies for Pond, especially how to defend efficiently against dragonflies
Heh, pro tip: throw assassin bomb on Giant Slug, easy money We'll look into the other things. Nice! Keep working I'm sure you'll get to the mid 20's soon And yeah.... now that there is more incentive to complete quests with the money rewards, you can see that they are a MAJOR factor in getting a high score! One of the cool parts is that if you take the risks to complete the quests, you don't have to last as long as someone who makes it much further but doesn't complete many quests. Excellent For Pond I personally love equipping twin Laser Turrets thanks to their unlimited range and Pond's narrow shape. And then because that level has slightly less frequent siege waves, I actually plop down a defensive Forcefield Turret, coupled with a zapper turret... The safer bet would probably be 1 laser, 1 sniper, 1 MG and 1 zapper though. The zapper and MG would slow and chew up the incoming dragonflies, while the sniper and laser are both great for their long range. Btw, Forcefield turrets do stack, so with 2 upgraded FF turrets you will have a 100% chance to knockback attacking enemies... note that enemies which are knocked back only deal 50% of their regular damage. They're a great option if you prefer to go a more "hero centric" route. --------------------------------------- P.S. because we feel bad for messing up the save game transfer with 1.1, we'll be submitting a quick update in the next day or so offering even more free equipment/abilities for each of the heroes!! It will also include a 1 time pop up message as you first boot up the game explaining that "If you haven't already done so since updating to version 1.1, you must create a new profile or re-install Bug Heroes for it to work properly."
thanks! looking forward to the quick update. one question can you override equipment slots? replace 1 slot with something else?
For me, just rebooting my ipod cleared up the 1/2 second freeze problem. Running just fine now. I'm loving the pond level. I've been using 2 MG, laser, and for the 4th turret it's either zapper or FF. Between those, and always keeping a couple of porta turrets near the base (along with a snare web), my defense seems to be working very well. On the pond I'm having a much easier time finding things (food, coins). The ant hole seems pretty important though - food runs out on the fallen tree can get pretty hectic at times.
hmm, were you on an iPhone before, and now you are on an iPad? yes. just buy the new equipment, and tap on one of the slots that is green. (you can only replace equipment that has finished it's cooldown.)
I know, but still, it's way too much damage. He has long range, and if you're walking around searching for him and happen to bump into him around the corner, you're dead, not to mention that he can strike you through walls and other barriers (like all melee bugs). Imagine losing a game at round 20 or more because of a minor mistake. But I guess it's a good thing it's an optional quest. And about completing the giant quest in 3 seconds, it happened when I threw an assassin bomb at a giant spider and ran away, and then got the giant slayer quest, and when I accepted, he happened to spawn in the same spot the giant spider was, and boom. How funny is that? One more thing, I notice that when I tap the screen in a panic, it doesn't respond. I'm guessing because my tap registers as a mini-swipe or something. It's irritating, but I don't know if you could or should do anything about it. It only happens on the iPad, I'm guessing because of the big screen, as you have to move your hand a longer distance to tap. Yeah. I managed to post the score though, but I had to retry over and over. I changed my name to Oxynidus as well. Got to round 41 on Kitchen, 32 on Office, and 28 on Playroom, and 19 on Yard (not submitted). I got a crash trying to submit my Yard high score, and I lost my score. Few people actually submitted their scores on Yard, from what I can see (3 people). I wonder if this is a common problem with Yard.
When your sound stops, if you press volume up/down, does your phone say "headphones" (even if you don't have any plugged in)?
