Round 30 or 40 at least. Most people want to get to at least the 20s, and a ton of people wind up struggling right there. And don't make it get any harder on easy. Easy is where I should be able to pwn up to round 80 if I want, where I can make tons of mistakes and still destroy.

I think that would be good, eventually I think people are still gonna get to the higher rounds eventually, but in the mean time making it more difficult would be great. Either that or make another difficulty mode that is way way harder than hard, that would give the people that own the game on hard another much harder challenge.

Alright. Got to round 97 (3 away from 100 :( ). My score is still double-posted. I took a few screenshots during the game. I haven't posted my strategy yet, but I will do so soon.

After 40 on normal I got the feeling that it was just infinite loop waiting for you to make mistake. I made the mistake around 80, lost the spider. Could not recover because cash was not flowing.

I realized that game was not intended to last 3 hours. There were some rounds with almost no food dropping, but then you'll see plenty of it.

I think one way to make sure the person will die eventually is to limit the food supply as game progresses. I am sure there are many other things that can be done to make it fun.

In general, after my 3-hour rally, I am not planning to repeat it, it's just too time consuming. I'll switch to hard now and see how that will go.

Food does spawn less and less as the game progresses... actually by round 30-40 pretty much the only food you will get is from enemy drops.

But on second thought, I think I'll see if we can rework how food degradation works a bit. I have a feeling by the later rounds people are pretty much glued to their bases (I know I tend to stay there) to get maximum support from their base. So what I'll see about doing is eliminating food drops from enemies after round 30 or so completely, instead of slowly dwindling the regular food spawns as it does now. This way you can still gather food late game, but it will be much more risky having to leave the comfort of your base -- and it will actually give you a reason to keep going out and exploring.

Heh yeah... I'd say its time to switch difficulties ;) Let me know what your first few goes on hard are.

Just want to ask a question I've had for a while:
What is the alcohol/drug references in Bug Heroes? The mushrooms in Coliseum mode is all I can think of.

And what about NYZombies? Does a molotov cocktail count as a drug reference? I can't think of anything else.

Clever idea. Round 30 for Hard, 40 for Medium, 50 for Easy, or something like that.

Question. Will the iPad's control-sticks be fixed, or will they appear wherever you touch? Because I really dislike the latter.

Not sure. Hoping to get this GC/ipad update out this week though. After that we basically have to create the UI work for the new IAP and a million icons for the new heroes... good part is I'm finishing up on the last hero now, and just have to make a few more levels (for free updates ;))...

We've been working hard so I wouldn't expect the big update to take too long... and even still we'll release intermediate content updates with even more equipment and hopefully some new levels and enemies while waiting for the huge update.

    edit: iPad controls are fixed.

I kinda like the really long games. They get intense and I dont mind a 1 hour game

Also I dont like the fact that if there is a piece of food that gives you 90 and you only have room for 10 that you will pick it up. If you cant hold the whole thing you should not pick up...Any thoughts

Yeah, but keep in mind we're talking games that last 80+ rounds, which is over 2 hours, and some people have scores that equate to 3-4 hour games... the game just isn't designed to be played that long. That being said, we'll keep easy easy of course, so that those who DO prefer long, epic games can choose to play that way if they want.

Also we're not necessarily making it HARDER to last longer, (well, kind of), but just changing the way you have to play late game... it will be more of a risk/reward situation as opposed to now where you just camp at your base after round 20, wait for enemies to drop food, and hope for the best. We've now officially made it so that enemies don't drop food after round 25 on hard, 30 on normal, and 40 on easy, forcing you to go out and explore to gather food. On the flip side, food spawns are now a little bit more frequent in the late game, meaning that you can still collect food and stay replenished, its just going to take a bit more skill and should be more exciting knowing you HAVE to venture out to collect food. This will also mean more strategy in keeping your base safe while you leave, including good usage of Better Base Guns, superior assassin, earthquake jump, burrow mines, and snare webs to keep enemies at bay while you venture out.

I've really got to play test this to see how it works out, but this is what we have planned for now...

I do agree in latter rounds (I reach round 109 on normal and it took 4 hours) the waves get bit repetitive and all it boils down to whether you make mistakes.

maybe some kind of very risky quest can be added in latter rounds (the quest with the highest pt now seems to be 3000, the ultimate test for a hero), say give you 4000pt or even reward you with food if you do sth. that not too risky but is possible. In the case, people may feel bore and want to challenge themselves, which may help make the game still much to be expected in latter round, and at the same time ends sooner as people usually is cannot resist on the quest... just a thought

I would definitely like a harder, longer quest. Currently we have the "no feeding your heroes quest" but that's more of an anti-quest where you avoid doing something than actively doing a mission.

No. But it's more than worth it. And the menus are designed to look mechanical as some of them have gears in them.
