Universal Bug Heroes (by Foursaken Media)

    Why is Squash Em's damage so much lower than Assassin's Bomb? It's kind of harder to use, as you have to get close, and it hits fewer enemies. I know that being instantaneous makes it easier to use in some situations, but I think that its usefulness doesn't compare.

    Because it's borderline impossible to hit anything with assassin bomb unless you have used it a ton. And it's not harder to use as both of them have the exact same range.

    Small suggestion: Would like to see a cooldown timer that actually tells me how much longer the cooldown is, in minutes or seconds. Long cooldowns definitely needed this.

    I might see about adding in some basic cooldown information in the ability descriptions (but only using language like short, medium and long).


    As for the update, it is nearing completion, and we're really excited to have iPad players enjoy the game as its meant to be enjoyed. We have a few more things to iron out, but we should be submitting very soon (no exact date yet). Here is the tentative change log:

    - added Game Center support
    - added universal iPad support
    - added a hero select button on the iPad
    - new Ant equipment: Goggles
    - new Beetle ability: Berzerk
    - new Spider ability: Ninja Smoke
    - encrypted save data files to prevent cheating
    - various crash fixes
    - fixed a bug where the controls would get stuck
    - fixed a bug where you could no longer scroll through lists without restarting the game
    - fixed a turret targeting bug (most noteable for MG helpers on Yard)
    - fixed a scoring bug
    - fixed a bug with playing the iPod
    - fixed a bug which caused Beetle's Shockwaves ability to zoom in instead of out
    - controls no longer disengage when message pop-ups appear (most noteable on lower gen devices during the saving pop-up)
    - starting MG turret is now upgraded in Easy mode to help with early grub attacks
    - increased the time allotted to complete quests on easy mode
    - increased the time allotted to complete certain collection quests on playroom and yard in all modes
    - added green circles around coins to make it easier to see them over darker textures
    - lots of difficulty tweaks
    - greatly increased the effectiveness of burrow mines
    - increased the damage of firecracker turrets
    - porta turrets no longer block hero movement
    - friendly soldiers on Yard level now have slightly different colored bullets

    Why not listing the actual seconds or minutes remaining within the game's UI?

    Everyone I know who plays WoW has some add-on that gives them that information. Dungeon Defenders has it as well, with the countdown right on top of the button.

    Because that's wow where your playing on a high resolution monitor with tons of space. Numerous times, I've been told that the would add something to the insectopedia/ability list but they just don't have enough space. Approximate cooldowns for most abilities are in the Survival Guide thread.

    It would be awesome if you could turn excess food into money, because during lots of games on hard I'll have collected all the food my base can hold fully upgraded and max that my hero can hold, so I don't need more food yet theres a ton still lying around, but I need money so I think that would be pretty useful.

    wont it be a good idea to reset the highscores for this coming update? will be rid of the cheater high scores that way

    Not talking about those bar timers but I meant just a simple text timer on top of the button icon. The font can be really small. Bug Heroes sure has the space for it seeing how large the buttons are.

    suggestion:
    sometimes it can be annoying during battle to have to take my thumb off the controls to tap the hero, or tap the base. also, when I am right by the base, sometimes I have have trouble with accidentally tapping the hero instead of the base or vice versa.
    so I think it would be nice if there could be an option to double tap one of the controls to bring up the hero menu, and double tap the other control to bring up the base menu (of course only when the hero is close to the base for the latter). would this be a possibility?

    Sweet! Also will some sort of barricades ever be introduced (I don't know if that would unbalance the game or something)? I just learned the usefulness of snare web! Its awesome especially when put in range of base turrets and in front of two portable turrets.

    Not sure about this... either way you'd have to take your hand off the controls eventually to either switch heroes or build turrets or whatever... note that on iPad there will be a separate hero select button since the screen has more space -- on iPad its also a little bit of a stretch to reach up and tap your hero.

    Barricades would definitely be imbal, and would be a lot of extra work behind the scenes to accommodate for :/ That being said, we have one new "builder" hero with a variety of placeable things anywhere on the map ;) Lets just say if you like laying down Porta Turrets and snare webs, you'll love this one new hero...

    Yeah thats what I thought, but the new hero sounds awesome! Will he be a pure support hero or will he also have some sort of attack? I think making him a pure support hero would be great. Also when more hero's are available will we have access to all or will we have the option to pick three at the start of the game to use throughout that match? I'd prefer the three hero approach as it would add a lot strategy wise (but that's just me).

    EDIT: Oh yeah and I just played a game (got to 23 on kitchen on hard :)) but I kept accidentally using the beetles abilities by sliding my thumb over them while aiming, could you fix it so that you can't accidentally swipe onto them and activate them? All you'd have to do is make it so you had to tap the button. I think that would be really useful.

    EDIT2: Oh yeah another bug that I found was that it keeps popping up that my heroes have unlocked new items even though there already unlocked, it's not a big deal or even that annoying since it only happens rarely, but just thought i'd mention it.

    Holy cow, those heroes sound awesome! Will heroes be free, in app purchase, or unlocked in game?
