Nice game... although the beetle feels a little clumsy to play. I like the spider... fast and reliable.
Even though there are some similarities on paper, the 2 games feel completely different imo. In Bug Heroes your defenses are more static for one, but also I think game play is a bit more dynamic with the 3 different heroes (at once), side quests, different wave types (attack and defend), and the whole food aspect of the game. Definitely give us your impressions when you get a chance to play it if you have the time @ Krollx -- the camera is at a fixed angle for the most part (special abilities and other things will zoom in/out and change the angle of the camera though). @ Vovin -- In regards to Beetle, he should feel a bit cumbersome by design, as he is the tank/"bruiser" of the game with more HPs, more armor, and very wide AOE swipes -- of course that is at the cost of speed (although using the Adrenaline ability will fix that to a degree ). We wanted to have it so each hero has its own identity.
Sure, the beetle is cool - but you have to get used to it. Is his strike with his club always an AOE effect? It seems like because I guess I can't target my enemies manually - but I might be wrong. I like the game and its style - muddy, a bit shabby - very well done.
I know you are all completeley surprised that I'll make a gameplay video today... I still think the name of the game should have been Angry Bugs.
Running around as an Ant with a minigun and a shoulder turret? Also, to my gameplay video, it's really really really long (half an hour and I had to loose on purpose or the video would have been even longer! ), so I'm going to have to cut some parts out so that will take some time.
I just purchased game. I was a tester and all the creen shots a menus came out great. Where are the in app purchases??
This looks really interesting, and they impressions almost sound too good to be true...will definitely be picking this up later today!
Only got to play it a bit and loving it. Think I need to play through the tutorial again though as I'm a bit confused on when and how you add tower defenses (just had the one added during the tutorial). Also have to get used to some of the menu controls as far as eating food, etc., because I didn't get very far - Round 4 - before my bugs were dead. In any case, it's a great game that really redefines what a dual-stick shooter can evolve too. This definately made my night after being disappointed with some of the games I haven't been able to get lately on my iPod Touch 2G. Runs nice and smooth.
Sorry if I missed this but I have two questions: 1.) Is this Retina display optimized? 2.) Is this single player only or is there online play (gamecenter)? Thanks!
