@ Foursaken On the older devices that have the "loading" box between rounds, could you make it so the controls do not disengage? because right now, if I leave my thumbs on the controls while it saving, when the "loading" box goes away, I am no longer engaged with the controls and I have to pick my thumbs up and put them back on, and it can cause problems. thanks!
Level 5 & the siege maggots in particular as well as the slugs ( they both seem to be much stronger now ) thanks,oh! By the way the siege maggots resemble the zanti misfits from the old outer limits television show (hmmm)
nitpick: on collesium mode, the ant's "better base guns" power-up talks about the food stash turrets, which don't exist in collesium mode...
A belated thanks Thank you KPdG &K?! Very much for the tips, I just get frustrated when i'm doing well & a wave of siege maggots, slugs, grubs ( my 3 main problems) and puts and end to my progress. Thanks again
Siege maggots usually only come during the defense waves, so most of the time you should know they are coming. Since thats the case, I prefer a nice mix of using slowdown and knockback abilities to keep them at bay. For example an adrenalined Beetle will keep knocking them back and killing them before they can get in range of your stash. A nice shield bash can delay them. Well placed snare webs can help slowing them down as well. I find that Beetle in general though is the best choice for base defense vs big groups of grubs and siege maggots. If I see any wandering siege maggots before they have gotten to my base, I pick them off quickly with spider. On Kitchen it is actually important to "patrol" as long as you can so you have plenty of time to kill off bugs before they get to your base. If you just sit and wait at your base, all the bugs will hit you at the same time, making them hard to fend off. So one strategy I like to do is basically always have "ant hole" or "teleport" ready. This way I can explore and pre-emptively kill incoming enemies to my hearts content. But as soon as I heard the "base is under attack" warning, bam, I use ant hole and am back ready to defend. Also note that low level MG turrets are ineffective against siege maggots. You really need a level 3 or 4 MG turret to be able to effectively deal with them, so I definitely make sure to have at least 1-2 sniper turrets handy, depending on my setup (I usually go 2 snipers if I am focusing on Beetle or Ant, but go mass MGs and Zappers if I am specializing in Spider).
I've the feeling yer not gonna stop until Bug Heroes is the ultimate game... A practice mode would really, really be fun. I like the equipping/hero abilities part, but am not good enough to enjoy it for very long (I usually encounter my limit around waves 17-20.) Speaking of, kudos for making very varied and interesting hero abilities and equipment. Many games fall into the pits where so many other games already rest, and stick to the true and tried MMO/RPG classics, with simple DotS, AoEs, etc. But Spider's, Ant's and Beetle's equipment and abilities are very varied, occasionally surprising, not always as obviously and blatantly tied to that particular hero's concept while still being very complementary and indirectly true to the spirit of the hero, and just all around durned fun. My favourites are any equipment/abilities that have both a passive and an active effect. To turn this ramble into something constructive, keep up the same equipment mindset for future heroes!
@ Foursaken on my iPod touch 1G, sometimes the sound goes funny, and then goes out all together... so if I want sound, I have to restart the app. of course this problem is real vague since there is no crash report becuase the app doesn't actually crash, but I thought I'd let you know anyway.
Hey everyone lets all make sure we are writing a review at the app store. The more reviews the better i think. I know i buy based on reviews so i'm sure most everyone else does too. Maybe we can get this game in the top 10. Remember the more money the Dev can make the more they can do for the game...
