Enjoying Bug Heroes Quest so much! If you are a Canadian (ie. Using the Canadian app store) and are interested in a free copy of the sequel, pm me with your email address and I will give you one if the three games I still want to give are unclaimed.
Can you please add the option to have numbers show up when damage is dealt like in BHQ (Preferably including damage from abilities as well so we could get a feel on how buffs affect them)? It would be EXTREMELY helpful in terms of strategy, so we could prioritize our upgrades and purchases and learn how to effectively put heroes and turrets and their upgrades to full use. Perty pleaze? It could be an option for advanced players and off by default.
Guys I know this isn't exactly about bug heroes, but the only reason why I am writing this here is cuz the BHQ thread is closed. I finished a few spider missions in the garage, but now I'm out in the yard with beetle and it says after a few objectives u have to beat some kind of armor captain. I couldn't find any armored captain. Anyone know what to do?
There is a thread in this forum on that game that is not locked. Threads in the Upcoming forum usually do get locked when the game comes out. Regardless, what level are you on in the outside level? I've been playing the game on two different devices, so am only on level 3 of outside so far - though I have gotten the chests and skill masters on each level.
Oh ok. I'll check the other thread out. I'll be using that from now on to talk about BHQ. I'm on the third one outside as well, and I just figured the armor general thing out. Just talk the the guy who told u about the key. I also got all the chests but I might have missed a skill or 2.
A few thoughts occurred to me after playing BHQ, knowing fully well that it's a separate game with separate rules. I'm just thinking in terms of battle pacing and such. I do think BH could do with a change in pace. I noticed how much more important abilities are in BH. Regular attacks take forever to take down large targets, even with bugs like Spider and Ladybug, so you rely on cooldowns, and at later stages in the game, it's all about juggling abilities. I say this with no idea whether FM's intended for the game to play like this or not, but I believe this is why Ladybug and Hopper failed at being practical late-game; their abilities didn't complement other heroes' abilities well enough. The issue here is that enemies have such high HP at later stages to take down efficiently without resorting to cooldowns and their damage is too high for you to spend much time attacking them with regular attacks anyway, so you have to resort to hit and run using abilities. But I know, this only affects players that can make it to rounds 30+, and even then, it's not necessarily a bad thing, and may not need changing after all. But personally, I think the games have gotten a bit too repetitive and all about not losing focus, and the majority of abilities/equipment and heroes aren't utilized nearly as much as they should be (same cookie-cutter abilities for each hero each game), which is one reason I'm not playing nearly as much as I used to (no score in Garden yet). A while ago, I mentioned a different possible approach to increasing the difficulty in the game, but was probably not feasible for FM to implement (or maybe it was just a dumb idea), and the game is pretty much in good enough shape for FM to move on to their next projects anyway. I just remembered it because I think it complements what I'm saying here very well. Anyway, just food for thought, trying to be constructive and all.
I think I am going to delve into BHs soon. Is it worth getting the IAP right away, not getting it at all, or just some of it?
They're all worth getting, but I suggest making the best of the free part first (which is a full game in itself) so you would understand the value of the IAPs before getting them.
Regarding what Oxynidus said... In the original Bug Heroes, the more dangerous enemies were naturally, though not necessarily rationally, given both high damage and high HP. Even if some of the more dangerous enemies didn't have such a high HP, but had the same high damage, they still would be difficult. And vice-versa. Just my two cents.
About seconding all that seconding, yeh!! I also posted it a while ago in the bug heroes quest thread, hehe nice to see so many think a like. How about the changeable level up skill system
That's the whole point of one of they key parts of the strategy system of the game though... horde units do low damage individually, which adds up because they are in a horde... but in turn they are easily beat by armored heroes and heroes with AOE attacks and damage (which are in turn worse against more powerful enemies like Armor Ants and Bumble Bees). You have to make sure to either have a naturally good hero against those types of enemies (Beetle for ex), or equip your heroes to deal with them specifically, with things like Poison Cloud, Rocket Kick, etc. @Oxy -- I do understand where you're coming from with your ideas to buff other areas then HPs and Damage, and I like the ideas! The problem with that is it would simply take too many resources to balance and implement at this point in the game's life, and it would create some pretty ridiculous upper ends (think of a flea with a SUPER fast charge... it would start to get ridiculous and then at some point you'd have to again find even other ways to start buffing the enemies at a certain point). One of the hardest part of about game development -- believe it or not -- is being able to draw a line. We think BH is at a very enjoyable level currently, and if we don't stop somewhere with revamping game balance, we could always find something new to do or ways to make it better... and then never make any new games
Yeah, that's about what I was saying. I do think the game is in pretty good shape. But I suppose that I figured my feedback could perhaps be helpful to you (or to myself), whether in bug heroes or any future projects. I like giving feedback even if I'm not asking for any specific changes, which I often worry would be mistaken for criticism.
Well, it takes both feedback and criticism to make a game better Btw, BH update has been submitted. Again, it includes: - added a random hero select option, which will randomly choose 3 heroes (from the heroes you currently own, including skins) to play as - fixed a bug with Stickbug's staffs - fixed a bug with multiple vampire quests - Worm's Autocannon doesn't lose it's shooting momentum unless you stop shooting for a full 1 second - added a 1 second delay when the quest window pops up so you don't accidentally accept or decline a quest - added a warning if you have an honor quest or food hoarder quest active and attempt to switch characters or eat food - various balance tweaks, including slight buffs to many of Ladybug's and Grasshopper's skills and abilities ----------------------------------------- Also as a heads up, we just submitted a Bug Heroes Deluxe version of the original Bug Heroes. Please note that it is exactly the same game as regular Bug Heroes, except it comes pre-packed with all the IAPs. Price will be $4.99, so again, the same price as getting it free and buying all the IAPs. This was a move simply to hit a small crowd of people who a) don't browse free games, and b) think IAPs are the devil ... I know some people would've wanted this option before, but to be honest we didn't want to do any sort of multiple version until we knew exactly what was going to be in the final/end product.
yeah , for this i take care of swarms with ant ( long range) or beetle due regen HP and area attacks.... but flea swarm is a pain lol
I used an Earthquake right next to a centipede next to a ledge, and it killed it and knocked it off. I think this happened to me twice. What exactly killed it here?
Anyone noticed that when you use assassin blade (spider) to cut through pill bugs, it dosent hurt you at all?
