Yes, most of those abilities are affected by Mushrooms... one of the key strategies in Coliseum is in fact to use a Mushroom in combination with certain abilities to do major damage. Love using a Mushroom and Lunge for ex to kill a Queen and both Armor Ants in one hit. Lunge, Seven Stabs and Hopper Kick are also affected by weapon upgrades. FYI, heavy hitting heroes like Spider and Ladybug get not only higher damage bonuses with their weapon upgrades then most other heroes, but also get a fairly substantial bonus on their specials too. Hopper Kick and Stampede for ex get modest boosts to their damage.
Anyone good in using mantis/hunter in coliseum ? There's so many ability combinations to use but I can't figure out which one works well with which? Also what is a good way to level your skills?
Game constantly crashes I have had the game for some time now - first on my iPhone and now on my iPad2. I actually find the game quite amusing, but at no time has it worked as supposed. Throughout the period I have had the problem with the profile resetting all the time, and now I cannot even open the game without it crashing. It crashes at the same point everytime - right where the game centre welcome is displayed. My device is an iPad2 and I am running the latest iOS and the game it self is updated with the latest release. /Soren
There isn't really a "4th" hero in BHQ... there are a bunch of cameos, some you talk to, some you get to play as The profile issue is being addressed in the next update. We fixed some crashes too, which should resolve your issue.
Abilities I recommend: Warrior Blade, Last Stand, Predator, Warrior Blow, Reckless. Luxury ability: Night Stalker, Fury. I advise against using: Rage, Unstoppable, Thick Hide, Steadfast, Ambush. (Good abilities, but IMO not suitable for Coliseum.
Interesting... Steadfast + Reckless + Concentration is one of my favorite combos You can just sit there and wait for everything to come to you and cream them in about one second with well over 2x damage and invulnerability. Also, Rage and Unstoppable are great combos with steadfast or last stand... get hit, but take no (or little) damage to boost up your stats Mantis is all about stacking up his damage and finding the right combinations of equipment... he doesn't have a lot of high power attacking abilities, but he can pile up his damage in a heart beat. Reckless + Ambush + Fury + Angry = like, a million damage per hit for ex.
I tried that once. I just have trouble with it when I'm being attacked by multiple big bugs when Steadfast is about to finish, especially if giant spiders and slugs are present. But it doesn't seem like Rage and Unstoppable trigger when Steadfast is active. But either way, my bigger problem is with the bigger bugs. I suppose I could try taking advantage of all the little bugs to boost my damage. I'm not the offensive type of Coliseum player. I hit and run. I use Warrior Blade + Predator to heal up and go in. That's why I had such success with Hopper and Spider.
I'm confused, do you recommend Reckless or you advise against using it? Is it worth leveling vicious up for mantis, I don't seem to see any effect when I level it up?
Sorry. I do recommend it. Vicious occasionally works, and when it does, it helps get rid of a bunch of small bugs, which can be especially useful if you have Predator or Fury activated.
Just re downloaded this! I had it way back when the only heroes where ant, beetle and spider and it cost $1.99 So far its pretty awesome! My favorite bug would have to be either ladybug or stick bug.
I'm still experiencing the pause problem only on treasure trove (hard) whenever i hit pause for whatever reason. my hero ALWAYS gets killed during the pause but only on treasure trove for some strange reason.
Haha! Not yet, no, I've been playing mostly Coliseum lately, mainly to experiment with different strategies for different heroes. but if I do come up with some interesting Turret set ups I'll be sure to post them!
I could use some good tower suggestions... Preferably cheaper and more practical for maps like kitchen or living room. Any suggestions would be great.
There are lotsa different valid combinations. It depends on your heroes and the way you play. Just try out different setups and see what suits you. A few setups I've had some success with: 2 Zappers + 1 Magnifier + 1 Scouter. 2 Lasers + 2 Machine Guns or Zappers. 4 Zappers or 4 Machine Guns. Replace any of the above turrets with Forcefields or Cultivators as needed if you have a problem with running out of food. Or if you want to be more offensive, add a Mushroom turret in there, and use Zappers to slow your enemies' advance when you're away from the base or when you're out of Mushrooms, and a Forcefield if they get there. I use Scouters when I have 3 turrets that shoot, or two Zappers; Zappers benefit a lot from the added range because it allows them to spread their effect to a larger area (because they switch targets to slow as many enemies as possible). I tend to avoid using Firecrackers and Snipers due to their unreliability. Snipers often miss or hit the wrong target, and are useless when you're not confronting large bugs, plus the smaller bugs are far more of a hassle at later stages than the larger ones, while Firecrackers scatter your enemies in every direction and often miss their targets.
Whats good combo of heroes to use with Bruce Flea?? he's SO. MUCH. FUN. but so damn impractical in adventure....GRRR i love him and hopper but I do SOOOO much better without them... =(
