I have a hard time believing that the game's difficulty increase on Hard only starts after round 20 or 21. The game gets tremendously more difficult just around that time. Can anyone back me up on this or am I just turning into a noob? Anyway, an update on Elephant Snail Rifle: It's actually not a bad ability if you're using Fly a lot, and your other heroes are left un-upgraded. It's a relatively cheap way to nuke enemies (doing about as much damage as a shot from a fully upgraded Fire Staff), especially since Fly can barely do damage to heavily armored enemies. Its range is much longer than any of Fly's other abilities, and it's a pretty nice way to get rid of Flea Gunners from a distance too.
Has FM said anything about it? And I back you up on it. I cant even come close to my old scores any more. Its like once it hits the mid teens swarms of bugs appear. I dont mind it at all, but the high score list for the most part will always be the same now
FM said that the increased difficulty only occurs after round 20 (or 21), and only on Hard, but I think they made a mistake. And yes, the leaderboards are now pretty much disabled. It needs a reset ASAP. I haven't been playing Adventure mode for that reason.
If the only reason to play the game were to beat the top scores, then 99.9% of people wouldn't have any reason to buy the game, and you wouldn't have much of a market.
I doubt anyone plays just for the score, but the leaderboards give us something to aim for. Where is FM anyway? Vacation?
think i've found a glitch on treasure trove whenever i pause the game my character that i'm using at the time ALWAYS gets killed during the pause but only on treasure trove. hhmmmm?
Looking into the Treasure Trove pause glitch. Leaderboards are getting a reset in this next update (all leaderboards). We completely redid the data management system, eliminating as many Apple protocols as we could... what this basically (ironically) means is less crashes, more stability, and data should now essentially be impossible to be lost (no more losing profiles). Difficulty has definitely only been touched after Round 21, and even then you really shouldn't start feeling a difference until round 25 or so... the whole point of the change was to NOT affect the average Hard players (< round 20). I suppose this won't matter as much once everyone is on an even keel with the leaderboard reset. We're looking to submit this update ASAP.... everything is in place we just need to test a bit more.
You're sure that no glitch is causing it to get much harder even before that? I've noticed the waves getting very relentless very quickly, it's not so easy to even get to round 20, and I've had just a few maggots eating up HUGE chunks of food just around round 20. It was like being attacked by multiple centipedes. The difference was noticeable even through Fortify, which used to virtually nullify Maggot attacks at that stage. I'd say it was just my imagination, but I don't seem to be the only one noticing this.
no it's not your imagination, i've been playing on hard ( treasure trove) and by the late teens all hell seems to break loose 2-3 centipedes & numerous flea gunners as well as an army of seige maggots AT THE SAME TIME!!!!
That's always been like that by late teens (round 18 specifically which is a huge siege round). Are you sure you guys aren't creamed harder bc you're using some of the new alternates, and maybe not having the best team setup? Have you tried playing with a "good and trusty" setup? But fyi I just made a few tweaks and made it to mid 20's (hard), so we'll see after the next update.
Depends on the level... For Kitchen I've been loving the Scouter turret (+MG+Sniper+FireCracker)... get that baby to lvl 5 and watch as a regular MG turret fires across the entire counter
No, even with my ideal setup and before I even got the skins. Though it's possible that I'm out of shape since I've been waiting for the leaderboards to reset, but like I said, I noticed the siege maggots doing way more damage than they're supposed to around round 20. I tend to doubt myself very often though, but it seems that I'm not alone.
Depends on the map really, but if I wanted to go for some raw score it'd usually be Fly, Stick and Termite, maybe Fly, Beetle and Termite, but I avoid picking Termite because it's too automated for my taste.
Really Stupid Question: how can I unlock the "reinforcements"? (I have paid, of course) Finally, have to courage to wander off kitchen and office into the garden. Love it as it is tons of fun and a very real feeling of siege! One thing: can that black ground dweller thing be killed any how?
There's an arrow on the bug portraits in the set up portion, touch the arrow to activate the alternate "reinforcement".
