Umm... I just launched the game and my profile was erased. That's part of v2.2, right? Update: Another bug- all text in game (in the main screen in the bottom left, at level select the names of the levels, in-game messages and the text for heroes in the equip screen...) becomes a white block. Reseting the game (closing it in the multitask bar) fixes this but it comes back.
All this profile-erasing is making me worry...going to check to see if my profile is actually erased!
LOL, just had ANOTHER new bug (and not the hero kind)! Screen froze, but jittered. Hard to explain, I'll try. I just killed a flea on office with Ant, and the screen froze on that image, but shaked all around, and the bullet from Ant's gun flashed between "there" and "not there". And every few seconds the white * that shows when blows land (like in comic books) appeared on the screen (even though it wasn't there when the screen froze). After a minute I even realized that the game itself didn't freeze, as I could hear sounds of new enemies! Just the image of the screen froze.... weird.
I think me and several people in this board had that similar problem. I think FM should know about this already and should have it fixed already.
I seriously think the leaderboards need a reset. The difficulty changes are enormous. Otherwise it'll remain frozen. I haven't been able to reach round 40 yet.
Why did they change the difficulties anyway? Will they ever go back? Ps how do I become a reg. Member? Not jr.?
Because after a certain round it became a game of endurance rather than skill. Games going on and on, lasting over 4 hours for some.
We only changed the difficulty of hard mode, and even then only after round 21 (you probably won't notice it until round 25 or so). This was to make it so you didn't have to play 100 years to start having a challenge. Ideally things would get more skill based as you went along well into the late game (Oxy's proposed changes for ex), but its looking like this would take a pretty drastic overhaul of things :/ But all in all the changes should really only affect hard players, and only during the "late game" after round 20 or so. We meant to reset leader boards but forgot in the rush to get the crash fix out. They'll be reset sooner or later... at least the hard leader boards will be. And yeah, the screen shaking thing is a symptom of the crashing we already fixed. Hopefully shouldn't be much longer now.
My only semi-complaint is that money seems very scarce that you barely get to upgrade the turrets, which makes Fly a necessary hero once again (I started picking Ant before the patch because eventually I would catch up).
I agree. IMO, hard should be hard, but not by limiting the money. that is what makes the game fun, buying and upgrading weapons, abilities, and turrets!
Do i have to keep unlocking abilities on different maps?? Coz yesterday I was playing 'office', and my worm unlocked the nuke. But today when I started playing 'kitchen', i realised my nuke hasn't been unlocked, its like it got reset and I have to unlock all the abilities from scratch. Same goes with my termite...my railgun and AC unlocked yesterday on 'office', but all locked when I played 'Kitchen'. Is this a bug or I have to keep unlocking on different maps..??
Too many bugs Dear Foursaken Media, I really like your game, for the most part. But the constant crashing and shutting down in really getting to me. Trying to avoid any puns here. I'd like to try some of the newer heroes, by which I mean buy some IAP. But I'm not sure about putting more money into a game that's already not working correctly. I'm sure you understand. Is there a timeframe you can give me on when we might expect the crashes/freezes/low framerate to be fixed by? Thanks!
This is a bug... I only had to unlock my abilities once... P.S. On a completely unrelated note: How do I become a reg. Member on touch arcade? I feel like a noob when this says jr.
The update to address the crashes was submitted days ago. When it gets approved is up to Apple. According to Foursaken Media, pretty much all of the issues that have plagued the game since the 2.2 version went live stem from an Apple recommended code optimization that instead blew their game up. They've removed the rogue code so, hypothetically, the game should be as solid as it ever was once the next version hits the app store. Unfortunately, for reasons I can't quite wrap my head around, FM opted to fold in the alt-skins IAP with this very critical bug fix, so odds are it will take longer to get to us than it would have as just a critical bug fix update.
To become a "senior" member, you have to post 100 times. I don't know why I'm lucky, but I have experienced no crashes or trouble otherwise with the update. It could be because I only just recently deleted and reinstalled it. I hadn't played it since the first month or so that it was released and was looking to free up 200 mb. After I deleted it though, I got a nagging feeling that I was making a mistake so I reinstalled it and remembered how great this game is. This is literally the only game that has any castle defense elements going on with it that I actually enjoy playing.
You're just lucky and/or have one of the combinations of hardware and OS versions that's "stable". In my experience a clean install is unrelated to stability. I've got three devices, all, either as a proactive move or necessity, have had clean installs of 2.2 - it barely crashes on my daughters, regularly crashes for my son, and constantly crashes for me. I've shelved the game until the update is out.
