FM, if someone purchases Treasure Trove, are you able to turn it on and off? Ie. Can you choose when you want to use it, or is it always on once it is purchased?
FM, I would not at all be surprised if this has been answered before in the thread, but what happens once the Reinforcements are out and about, bug-free (hah), and plopped down by the frontlines? Have we then seen the last content update for Bug Heroes in a while/forevah, or are there grand plans beyond even the addition of 10 more heroes? The more heroes arrive, I canna help thinking that Bug Heroes resembles DotA, albeit far more charming, unique, and appealing. If you ever find yourselves without a game to code, a Bug Heroes 2onlineultimatew00tl33t, with both players versus players (one or several on each side) in Adventure mode (with bug waves attacking both bases equally, and player heroes able to attack enemy heroes and take food from the enemy base), players versus players (single duels or teams) in the Coliseum, and co-op against AI bugs in both modes, would probably become *extremely* popular, and might be one of the first truly successful e-sports for iOS...
Wow, that update came quickly! Thanks Foursaken! As for future updates, I feel that in this point it's time to start working on Bug Heroes 2...
The "treasure" ($1,000,000) part of it is a toggle (a little treasure chest icon is now over the character select part for starting a game - black is off, lit up is on), but just buying the pack unlocks everything permanently.
Thanks. Maybe I will wait to see what the reinforcements pack adds (if there is anything locked in it), and get other achievements before I decide to buy the Treasure Trove. Can you compete for high scores still if you toggle it off? Patiently (and impatiently) waiting for Christmas (which is what the next update will seem like)...
Yes. Buying it has no effect on your ability to submit scores to the leader boards unless you toggle it on for a given game (and it's pretty obvious beyond the $1,000,000 with the "Treasure Enabled" in bright green over the lower HUD). Just be aware that if you've updated to 2.2 that continually playing with it is risking you losing that profile. There's at least two TA members this happened to, and many more in the comments sections on FB. I learned this the hard way. I purchased TT on my kids' devices so they could play with it but wanted to wait until I finished unlocking everything on my own before buying it for my device. I played with 2.2 for more than a day, had unlocked all of mantis' abilities on my own and probably had all but one of the armor unlocks for him and... oh, where'd my profile go? At that point I didn't really have much practical choice but to buy the TT for my device, but after banging my head against a wall with the crashes for a day to re-earn some of the achievements I think it's time to wait for the update since the fix is in the pipeline. Some of the maps play OK in low, but some, e.g. Yard, crashes pretty much constantly after a certain point.
I thought so too but... This is an awesome idea, and I used to think it could happen. The point is I'm pretty sure lower devices couldn't handle it... It would crash like crazy! Just think, (no offense foursaken) all they did was add the new pm hero and the game got very glitchy... Its a great idea no doubt, but unless forsaken ditches the lower devises/became non universal this probably won't happen...
This is just plain ignorant. 1. The crashes stemmed from them implementing a code optimization Apple's SDK recommended, something they hadn't intended to have in the final build and so it was put out there without proper testing. 2. The crashes occurred across the spectrum of devices, including current gen devices. So, not only is the addition of the hero irrelevant to the cause of the crashing, the crashing itself is not related to the device's capabilities. Yes, Apple's incredible penny pinching with device RAM (it's less than $10 retail for a GB of high speed RAM, I'd be happy to fork over an extra $20 for 2GB of onboard RAM on these devices), is causing developer headaches (e.g. the reality of the market is that for any game being released through mid 2012, it's going to *have* to be able to perform well under just 256MB of RAM even though, one hopes, that all new devices by then will have at least 512MB), but you can't draw the straight line you did between the release of mantis, game instability, and, oh yeah, it's time to ditch all the old devices and code a new game Besides, FM's hints in this thread are that they've probably already made some headway into whatever their post-BH project is. We probably don't have all that long to wait (crosses fingers).
Forgot to report another bug- everytime I finish a game, when I start a new one and on the level selection screen, I always have the 'continue' button, even if I don't have a game in progress. When I press it I go to the last game I played exactly when the screen fades to black and the game stats are shown. Also I think it always says high score on the stat screen, doesn't make sense I reach a new high score every game. But I haven't really checked that.
OK, I have ANOTHER feature request- this time for something that really annoys me. 2 types of quests, using only a hero for a while and "food hoarder", can last a lot of time sometimes (5 mins). You have no idea how MANY times I got a call during a game or something and when I went back to it I COMPLETELY forgot that I took that quest and either switched hero I fed my hero, and failed the quest (which would have been easy to accomplish if I hadn't forgotten). In fact, it just happened to me this minute (failed food hoarder coz of phone call). I also sometimes fail quests to find slaves or coins coz I forget. Foursaken, can you work something out to solve this? Maybe put quest names on screen and their duration? And to not clutter up the UI, add an option to choose how many quests the UI displays at any time...
It's worth buying if any of these three conditions applies: 1. You want the freedom to install BH on any device of yours and instantly have all the turrets, equipment, and maps available to you without worrying about restoring to a particular profile. 2. You want the freedom to experiment with any particular combination of turrets and powers without having to play long enough to earn them in a given game. 3. You want an easier game of BH by removing the bottleneck of money and reducing it to a game of pure strategy and tactics. This also goes well for the less hardcore in your household like my kids.
FM , by how much does mantis' rage and unstoppable abilities increase damage and armor every time you get hit and is there a cap on how much they increase?
*slaps forehead* since I had unlimited money, I got caught up in the fancier abilities (Good Luck, Impale, Seven Stabs, etc) that I forgot all about the basic abilities (Riposte and Parry). for some reason I didn't pay attention to Lunge either. I'll have to try again. I have tried to get in the habit of always checking the pause screen whenever I restart a game, to see what quests I have going. ... what are the stats for the Charger turret? including what turrets it affects and whether or not they can stack...
Does worms riot shield do anything? (as written above) does worm's riot shield do anything? Ps sorry for the double post!
It gives him better defense at the cost of slower movement. It also causes his bullets to spread and push-back enemies. One of my favorite skills to use with him. Use with exploding bullets activated for a very nice combo.
I used to like Worm's riot shield but I find his Auto-turret a better defense against incoming enemies.
