Yep, I've just gone into the game for the first time since the update and keeps crashing everytime I start a new adventure. Previously bought all IAP's and bought the Treasure Trove today before catching up with the TA thread. Nooooooooo! Nevermind Foursaken, I trust ya. Please be quick though! (like you'd take your time! Sorry..) Lookin' forward to the fix..
You're one cranky fellow, aren't you? Putting the technical issues aside. These in-game popups are painful. A popup popped up while I'm dodging a scorpion, and that fraction of a second cost me my bug. And another time I was using Ladybug, and was preparing to parry a bumble bee, and a popup showed up just as I was about to hit the parry button, and got whacked on the head. I also had some ideas concerning adventure mode. In the beginning of a game, the game gets gradually more interesting as different kinds of bugs spawn and the game gets more dynamic, but at some point, all what changes as the game progresses are the enemies' HP and damage, and you pretty much just have to fight each wave as you did the one before with no significant change in strategy. So I thought what if each enemy bug type got more powerful in its own way? Like: Fleas: Their charging distance starts off very short, and gets longer as the game progresses. Armored Ants and Pill Bugs: They start blocking more often. Warrior Ants: Their knockback increases. Flea Gunners: The number of bullets they fire in one volley increases. Bumble Bees: Their attacks become faster. Elephant Snail: They spawn fleas at a faster rate. Hungry Bugs: They spin only 3 times at first, and keeps increasing as the game progresses. Centipedes: They become faster. Siege Maggons: Longer tongues. This would make the difference in difficulty more interesting, making Easy actually easy, and hard actually hard. It would also force players to adapt to these changes strategically, and prevents the game from becoming a spam-fest, and may also make the use of each hero to counter specific enemy types more important. Like for example, if Bumble Bees hits faster, then using Beetle against them would become more difficult, and the use of Ladybug would become more important. What do you think?
I think it is one of the best suggestions for Bug Heroes yet, and one that would enrichen gameplay immensely.
Small update- game crashes even on low graphics. Every time a message pops the game slows down considerably (when before the update on high graphics it didn't), it can cost me my heroes sometimes. Some questions: The armor pieces you get for each hero as you gain more experience- does it really increases armor or is it just a cosmetic change? If I use Regen with Beetle, for example, and then switch hero, does he still regenerate? And another feature I'd like to see implemented: An arrow that points you towards your next quest objective (like rescuing slaves, for example). Some maps are fairly large, and when trying to complete objectives while fending off enemies (cause sometimes you have no choice) I sometimes fail the quest due to shortage of time. That arrow would be a great help. Especially with that "collect 10 coins one after another" quest.
I'm getting a lot of crashing as well. I'm on a Verizon iPhone if that helps. Great little war game was having some issues and they traced it back to the Verizon iPhone which they weren't testing. In not sure if that's the case here but I thought I would add my two cents. Maybe it will help.
Greenburger, the visual armour is just cosmetic. There is a turret that actually does point to your objectives and food when you level it up.
are you talking about the "Loading..." popups? those are the game saving between rounds. they have always been there on the low graphics mode, but were removed from high graphics mode during beta. I think Foursaken said that Beetle actually regens faster when he is not the active hero. the Lookout turret does this. it is unlocked by reaching round 10 on the Attic level.
Loading popups, achievement popups... all kinds of popups really, but now with the low graphics and the fact that I had to start a new profile (getting achievements all over again), I'm having more trouble with it. Opinions people. What do you think of what I just suggested?
My game crashed as well. FM, I emailed you my crash log. I know it was unsolicited, but I figured it couldn't hurt.
Alright... Fixed the crash, so it'll be pushed to submission asap after some more testing. Basically, an experimental optimization -- which was not supposed to make it into the final build -- was accidentally committed minutes before the game was submitted. I'll let you know more once we submit -- thanks for your patience. As for the pop-ups, it is a necessary evil for devices set to low graphics. As for Oxynidus' idea, its good and definitely would make things interesting. I'll have to get back to you on the feasibility of it though.
The Elephant Snail Rifle ain't so bad. Speed decrease isn't that big. Damage is decent. Provides a wide view. Take a mushroom, and you could take down a centipede with a few shots. Has the auto-cannon problem been solved yet?
I'm talking about his activated ability, not natural regeneration (although I did notice he regenerates quite fast when not active). Same goes for Hopper's regen ability.
yes, I believe that it was in the context of Beetle's Regen+ ability that Foursaken made the comment. but we will just have to wait till they get back on. I tried Ladybug with Treasure Trove on Treestump Hard... I was only able to reach round 17. ouch.
Say. How's everyone been doing on Hard? How far have you been able to get after the difficulty was increased?
I just tried max-out Scouter Turret with 3 maxout Firecrackers Turret in the Attic map. It's like a July 4th thing all over place haha. A fun set-up Until the crash of course. I dont know if that setup is going to actually help you after round 20 on Hard, but this is where I wish I had the option to fast forward to round 20 though.
Scouter Turret? It says in the of description of the Scouter Turret that it can scout out food/coin... I have never actually seen it do this, and yes I leveled it up to 5... Am I missing it? Or dosen't it work?...
As mentioned before, the crash has been fixed and the update will be submitted tonight. This update will include the "Reinforcements" pack as well. Last update was quite quick, so hopefully we can expect a 5-7 day approval, unless we can get it expedited for an even quicker time. For those just checking in, the Reinforcements pack will be an alternate skin pack, essentially giving you another variation of each hero that you own, with a new model and different level up skills! For ex you will be able to play as a Wasp instead of Spider, a Bumble Bee instead of Beetle, a Snail instead of Ant, etc. The Reinforcements pack is one purchase of $0.99 -- so you essentially get more content with this pack the more of the other hero packs you already own/buy in the future. I think its just a normal regen rate whether you are selected or not. With the Regen ability I know it doesn't change, but I'll have to double check the code later to see about his ability... can't remember. In regards to Ladybug, don't be afraid to experiment with different styles and equipment! My offensive load out for her is usually Lunge, Seven Stabs, Impale, and Piercing... then I go straight for her armor and hardened shell upgrades to balance out her defense. On the Scorpion and sometimes Bumblebee waves, I do swap out one of those for either Riposte or Parry though. Looking into it, thanks. You must be missing it... it adds blue arrows around the outside of the screen that points to food, treasure chests, coins, and slaves. However, it only points to ONE thing at a time, by design.
Thanks for such a fast submission. Really looking forward to the Reinfrcement pack. So what will Mantis' alt be?
